One guy I know from hockey is missing. He went up with his buddy camping to Nicola Lake and were supposed to be home already. Search and rescue has found their canoe sunk in the lake and all of their stuff abandoned at the trailer park they were staying at.

The search is still going on, such a big shock to wake up to

Fact: I almost made my account name "Bob Loblaw" when I first joined HF boards.
And don't forget Bob Loblaw's law blog.

Tobias had the best one liners though.

I loved his business card when he combined the two careers of analysist and therapist.

He is the mayor of wrongville.

Great avatar by the way.

Man I'd almost say Buster has the best one liners.

I love Tobias, but Buster is incredibly underrated.

I don't know whats more pathetic; people that scam people like that or people allowing themselves to get scammed like that.

"Oh, it's not a swindle. What you do is, see, you give them all your credit card numbers, and if one of them is lucky, they send you a prize."

So I watched Manchester United become the "2013 League Champions" today while I was at the gym.

You know, one of the few things I actually like about soccer is how much they value winning the regular season. It's a HUGE deal. I wish North American sports were more like that.

So remember Zombo's GDT about Detroit's skytrain of doom? Turns out Toronto has their own skytrain as well, it takes you from the eastern end of the subway out to Scarborough. Just got home from riding it for the first time and I've been reading all about it, apparently only three transit systems in the world (Toronto, Vancouver, and Detroit) originally wanted to use the technology, which led the the government-owned corporation that was developing it going bankrupt and then being sold to Bombardier. They still use the original old-style train cars, but unlike Vancouver they have drivers; the official reason for this is safety, but the conspiracy theory is that the TTC struck a deal with the transit union to provide more jobs. It was also unbelievably loud, both while riding and listening to it pull up to the platform.

Just as a follow up, they found a shoe that belonged to one of them washed up on the shore and the weather was really bad last night. Sounds like they are just looking for the bodies now. 17 and 18 are the ages of the two, both were in their senior years in high school (Langley Secondary School). I knew one of them for about 8 years, and am in complete shock right now. Hasn't really set in yet

This makes me glad that I drove to Scarborough when I went to the Toronto zoo.

That's horrible. I lost a dear friend of mine to a drunk driver a year and half ago. The worst part about it was reading articles about the accident, where things like bits of clothing and flesh were scattered all over the highway.

There's still hope for your friend though. Just avoid news articles for a while, they do not help.

Thanks for the kind words, hopefully I hear something good, but as for tonight I have a lacrosse game which I was going to miss because of this, but I now feel like it will be nice to get out and distract myself (as horrible as that sounds) from what's going on. Especaily since the alternative is sitting watching the News all night in hopes of hearing something positive.

Officially been changed from "Rescue" to "Recovery"
