Sounds like Malkin, Bortuzzo, Jeffrey and MacIntyre won't play today.

Also, James Neal and Sidney Crosby are skating in Pittsburgh.

To help get the crowd energized early and to finally deliver some long overdue pay back, Claude should do his darndest to line up Thornton's line with Cooke's.

Then Thornton can do his own version of a Savardian spinarama on Cooke.

I think this points to the forward lines seen at Thursday morning's practice being what we see in today's game. It also looks like Adam McQuaid and Matt Bartkowski will be in for Dougie Hamilton and Wade Redden.
Dougie needs more rest ..... LOL

Or does this mean that is about all we will see of Dougie for this year?

Why play Jagr lower than Horton? Makes no sense.

I believe Hamilton and Redden skated this morning per ESPN Boston, which would seem to indicate that they are sitting and McQuaid and Bartkowski are in, but who knows?

And yes, Fluto's line predictions have been off once or twice

I thought Horton looked good with Kelly the other night, but Clode might want to see if JJ and Yeti can work some Euro magic, and Kelly gives them a very responsible C in case their D leaves a little to be desired?

I thought Redden played well. I'd like to see more of him.

I really, really want to see a Yeti-Krejci-Jagr line... But the lines by Fluto look nice. All they need is a mean Looch. Lucic needs to get pissed, he's been playing like **** that's been pissed on. We need a mean and angry Looch for a Stanley Cup run. I'd like to see this for the playoffs:

Marchand-Bergeron-Seguin
(Good) Lucic-Krejci-Jagr
Soderberg-Kelly-Horton
Paille-Campbell-Peverley
Thornton, Daugavins

Chara-Boychuk (move Seids up if necessary, per usual)
Seids-Hamilton (Redden if he plays well)
Ference-McQuaid/Hamilton
McQuaid/Hamilton

Rask
Dobby

That forward depth is absolutely insane. You're talking 2 first lines and 2 second lines.

My thoughts as well, but if Clode thinks that Thornton is giving 100% and Looch is only at 75%, you sit him for a game or two, even if the team is the worst for it, just to send a message. I would sit Looch today and Horton tomorrow, if that's the case because I feel Horton has been just as bad/worse than Lucic.

Wow, am I ever glad I dropped by the forum today. I didn't know the game was this afternoon. I have a day of running around but I'll record it and watch after. I just have to stay clear of the sports radio stations when I'm in the car.

I would love to hear a "Jagr's better" or "Crosby tampered" chant today. Won't happen but it would be funny. Or, if Jagr scores, "thank you Iggy".

if anything it shows that Claude realizes how important Dougie will be int he playoffs and wants to make sure he won't be burnt out once they start.

Let's not complain about fluto's projected lineup.
We've been down this road before very recently. When there's no morning skate, fluto throws darts (& usually not very well)

He'll definitely be getting time in the playoffs, probably VERY sheltered. He might be benched for games at a time, maybe even series at a time like Seguin. His rookie season has been a lot more impressive than Seguin's, mostly because Claude trusts him a lot, but he's going to let him get some experience in the playoffs. There's no other way to let a rookie get that experience besides playing. Plus, he's been a very good defenseman for us for the entire season. Already a very serviceable #4. He'll probably get some powerplay time, almost every goal we've scored has come partially from him on the PP, he makes things happen out there. Let him gain some confidence in the areas he's confident with. Management is doing a great job with the kid and they'll keep doing so. Seguin turned out alright, I think Dougie will be fine.

Yeah I have no problem with Kelly centering Soderberg in his debut. I think that's a good idea.

Not sure about having Jagr there but I think his puck possession and ability to cycle will help a lot in the offensive zone.

I'm sure we'll see a few looks and line hopping though. I just hope Claude solidifies the lines sooner rather than later so chemistry can start to be built
