Exactly! We shouldn't be pinning the play as of late on any single person coach or players. The team has had a bad stretch of games and it's up to the TEAM as a whole to play it's self out of this funk.

We on this board go overboard on pinning poor play singling individuals out when in reality it's multiple issues that lead to a team having poor performances. Thus why Gunnarsson wouldn't have and wont be a huge boost coming back into the lineup if the TEAM as a whole continues to play as individuals rather as a team.

My reason for pointing Carlyle's mistakes is to open eyes up to those that have turned on Gardiner that he's not the lone guy to take out of the lineup. Frankly he deserves the chance more than anybody else to play through this cause when he's on he's a special player and it's the only way he will get to that level of play is to in fact PLAY HIM.

They made the decision to call him up then they should stick to playing him if they're going to be right by that decision. Taking a player in and out of the lineup does nobody any good. Kadri and Franson were effected by this last year, Gardiner, Liles, Frattin and MacArthur are being effected the same way right now cause of this.

This ship will turn when Carlyle sticks with one lineup and that's his responsibility to figure out in the best interest of the team. If that means Gardiner sits so beat it but this revolving door of players has hurt the team as a whole as of late and needs to be fixed before anything else to have a domino effect of improved play team wide.

You may be right. The guys that have been playing together all year are doing fine.Frazer/Franson,Bozak/Kessel/JVR,4th line all seem fine. The second and third lines, and the other two defense parings with the players not knowing who they will be playing with game after game is disruptive. The guys in and out of the line-up try too hard to stay in the line-up and make mistakes

Carlyle needs to pick a line-up and stay with it for a few games.

Leafs Nation always needs a scapegoat, because it's nice to believe that all our problems can be solved by removing one player from the lineup and inserting someone else. Remember when Kostka/Holzer were the cause of anything bad that happened earlier in the season, and how it would all go away if Carlyle just played Gardiner? Everyone ragged on Holzer for not being mobile enough, and I distinctly remember arguing that the second Gardiner was in the lineup instead, all the same idiots would begin whining about Gardiner not being reliable in his own end of the ice.

Bob Cole? HNIC? Leafs vs Sens?

This is the night we clinch, hopefully the Islanders can beat the Jets.

He needs to play more than he needs to sit in the press box at this point IMHO.

Realistically, I think he should have finished this year on the Marlies, playing big minutes, and work on dominating the AHL. Again, just MHO.

Well Galley is pretty bad too. Not Healy bad, but around there.

Just have to remember, no one on HNIC is a Leaf fan.

Two cities will be very happy tonight. Vancouver loves Hughson, and even though Cole may not be what he used to be it still just seems right having him call a Leafs game...

Good to see, hopefully they can make this a permanent move.
