Horton is a UFA next year and he doesn't even make the top UFA list on Capgeek.

I'll add Matt Frattin & Mikhail Grabovski as Maple Leafs with low hockey IQ. Our blue-line used to be littered with them (Phaneuf, Schenn, Komisarek)

Why would Oiler fans jump you for that? It's not wrong.

From the Oilers, I would also add that Ales Hemsky has pretty poor hockey IQ. All-world talent but he can't figure out offsides after 10 years in the league.

Not a current player, but Ryan Hollweg has to be the dumbest player I've ever seen. He took the worst boarding penalties at the worst times. Either he was just a dirty player who had no concept of timing (still dumb), or what I think is more likely, he was just ****ing moron that had no idea how to hit properly without boarding. For some reason he seemed to get dumber each year in the league and board more and more. He also did nothing well. I don't know how he stayed in the league. All he could do was board players at the most inopportune times (not that there's ever a good time to board someone). Talk about a guy that made a deal with the Devil. Should never have been in the league. Funny somehow he ended up on the Leafs after the Rangers. Why would any team want him?

Evander Kane.

Pretty much just skates down the wing and shoots it right into the goalies chest every damn time.

Honorable mention: Horton

I assume he is gone...but Devil fans, what the heck happened to this guy?

Posts earlier in the year had him as an allstar....

Just curious if he will be resigned...
He overachieved at the start and then underachieved since. I mean he would be on pace for 25 goals in a full season, I think every devil fan would be happy with that but he just severely overachieved in the beginning.

...and as far as hockey IQ goes, yes, David has none.

The fact that Ovechkin and Booth get mentioned (booth may be a shell of his former self, but he was a 30G guy before he got taken out) show that "Hockey sense" is just a way of saying that you don't like a player but want look smart about it.

Still not the dumbest thing by a long shot that I've seen an NBA player do. I saw (live) the Knicks' JR Smith foul a guy at half court taking a shot to finish a quarter. Guy got 3 free throws.

Someone mentioned Horcoff - I disagree. He's underrated because of his contract, but he's pretty smart defensively, and average offensively.
Almost every offensive play dies on the stick of Shawn Horcoff because he has absolutely no idea what to do in the offensive zone and is constantly making bad passes and turning pucks over in the neutral zone because of his bad hockey IQ

Cory Emmerton makes a lot of unbelievably bad defensive plays.

I've got a drinking game going for every timeTaylor Hall attempts (and fails) a sweet dangle. as a result I drink a lot. Is that worth anything?

I've also never seen anybody skate full steam into the crossbar quite like him. He seems smart the rest of the time though. And he looks like E.T. You know, that alien who figured out how to work a speak-and-spell.

Lol no way, everyone loves him, always a fan favorite. Even when he put up 30 last year (and on pace for 25 this year) he always had and will always have an awful hockey IQ. Add that to the fact he is a terrible skater and rarely keeps his head up when he has the puck, its mostly a disaster. But he gets in the dirty areas to chip in some goals and he has a really nice shot. He has a knack for the net, hes a team player, tough, a pest, and a fan favorite. Thats why he will get a nice paycheck from Mr. Lou.
