thread worthy...all I can say.

To Hardees: I'm sorry I doubted you, I've been away for too long. Between the Jalapeno Chicken Ranch sandwich (why did you make it limited time only?) and now this, I may never step foot in another fast food joint other than yours again.

I posted about it in either the Food thread or the UT (probably the latter since I post about nearly every food I read about in that thread)

Sounded interesting

Unfortunately no Hardee's or Carl Jr nearby

Worth it...I haven't been to a Hardees in years and well, this is the first time I ever started a thread about food.

Did it make a man out of you? Because that is what the ads for this burger tell me.

I'm going to guess the "bourbon sauce" is just some mix of mayo, oil, BBQ sauce, and some spices to make it sweet.

Possibly, though even with that said, Hardees does know how to make a tasty burger. Unfortunately they're also so ridiculous that I might do one a year at most out of fear for my own health.

But speaking of bourbon, I had the foothills bourbon stout last night... that's some quality **** right there.

I have only seen a Hardees in PA. I gotta say, Massachusetts gets robbed of fast food options. We only get the basics, WacArnold's/BK/Wendy's, and the occasional Five Guys

Is this draft-only? Foothills has been a bit hit-or-miss for me with their bourbon-aged beers, but the bigger stouts (Sexual Chocolate, Olde Rabbit's Foot) have been excellent.

I've been getting more into bourbon lately which is probably why I'm skeptical of a fast food chain producing anything that actually resembles the taste of a bourbon-based sauce.

http://www.brandeating.com/2013/04/r...on-burger.html

Carl's Jr.'s Jim Beam Bourbon Burger features a "rich and tangy sauce flavored with Jim Beam bourbon," a single, double, or Six Dollar Burger patty, onion straws, two strips of bacon, pepper jack cheese, lettuce, and tomato on a sesame seed bun.

I went with the single for $3.89.

The defining bourbon-flavored sauce was really sweet, just a little tangy, and just ever so slightly spicy. To make sure you get the flavor, they spread it on the top and bottom bun of the burger. It ends up being pretty excessive and covering up a lot of the other ingredients. I'd prefer it on either the top or bottom bun, but not both.

Not sure myself since I've never done it, but everyone I know that has says it's damn tough to do bourbon barrel aging if it's not a big beer. Not sure on availability to be honest, only place I've seen it so far is actually the billiards hall I play at in Cary. Bucky knows his ****, some awesome taps for only having 8 of them. Will probably drop by a bottle shop tomorrow to see if they have any since I have the day off.

I have a tough time drinking straight bourbon, too many bad memories of college for my liver. But that said I'll be trying this burger most likely, it sounds like it could be good... key part of the phrase is "could be" though. Fast food places have a tendency to **** up stuff like this that could be epic by cutting corners.

The Six-Dollar-Burger servered Western Style with BBQ sauce, Bacon, and Onion Rings on it is the best this place makes and it costs less than $6 as well.

Haven't been to a Hardee's in a long time. They have all closed near us. I miss the Frisco Burger.

A&W Canada is primarily a burger joint with a fairly eye-popping ~750 locations throughout Canada (there are ~1,400 McDonald's locations in Canada, making the difference in percentage roughly the same as Burger King to McDonald's in the U.S.).
A&W Restaurants has less of a focus (used to be more chicken based, I remember them offering up a Dagwood sandwich as a signature sandwich when I was younger, their recent re-branding has them offering more traditional fast food fare) and has only ~1,200 locations in the United States and various other countries (mostly Pacific/Southeast Asian nations). For comparison's sake that's about 1/3 as many locations as there are Sonic Drive-Ins.

The Canadian version is significantly better, though American A&W's chicken fingers were my favorite fast food when I was a kid.

Did he say Hardee’s or Arby’s? I hope it’s not Hardee’s. I heard their fries are just rat tails...
