It appears Dougie Hamilton, who scored in the 3-0 win over Florida, will be scratched. The 19-year-old rookie had been scratched in three of the previous five games. Julien said that the scratches have been mostly due to giving the Hamilton, who has played more hockey than anyone this year, a chance to rest, but he also added that he's facing an issue that probably only time will take care of.

“Right now it's been an opportunity to learn a lot in a short span about the pro game and one of the issues is how strong the players are he's playing against compared to the ones he was used to (in juniors),” said Julien.

Ridiculous in my opinion........ this stuff makes me hate Claude.
Anyone know what the other issue is that Claude's referring to? Is it a hockey related issue or personal?

I see that Hamilton gets out muscled when the opposing player is driving to the net a lot. I believe it happened last game against Florida as well.

Just my thoughts.. but who knows.

Yeah, I've noticed it recently as well. But the part about "only time will take care of" makes me think there's something else going on off ice. Not trying to pry into his personal life, just curious if its off-ice hockey related.

I kinda noticed that too.. he seems pretty solid when he covers along the boards, but getting back in front of the net isn't always a pretty sight. I feel like the D-corps in general has had its fair share of trouble clearing in front of the net.

Ok, this is the week their get their **** together and start steam rolling teams/get into rhythm for the playoffs.

The power play is going to heat up, and all four lines will start firing. They're going to smash Washington and Ottawa, opening the door for Winnipeg to sneak in and upset the Penguins in the first round.

I think the writer is just referring to the hockey issue Julien mentions in the quote that follows that statement. The time part refers to the time it will take Hamilton to bulk up and get used to NHL physicality.

...but he also added that he's facing an issue that probably only time will take care of.

“Right now it's been an opportunity to learn a lot in a short span about the pro game and one of the issues is how strong the players are he's playing against compared to the ones he was used to (in juniors),” said Julien.

Maybe it's just me, but if I've got a multi million dollar investment, I'd make damn sure the principals involved in running that investment were on the same page and somehow united in how that would look.

I thought I read something about Snider giving the dreaded "vote of confidence" to Holmgren and Bryzgalov, but was silent about Lavi. Sounds like you lot have a lame duck coach on your hands.

Anyhow, enjoy the game. Yeah, *should* be a Bruin win, but lord knows the guys in the black and gold haven't made much look easy lately.

I think this is a problem for Dougie-he just doesn't have adult male musculature yet and it makes it hard for him to claim his space. I agree with Claude that this is something time will take care of although what Dougie does over the summer to maintain fitness will help, but in the end he is still just a teenager still growing into an adult body playing with adults.
