Not from the Balkans! Wrong end of Europe. Latvia is a Baltic state, once clustered with Estonia and Lithuania as components of the former USSR

Factoid: You can usually spot a Latvian name, because so often they end with the letter S, first names included.

Thought it would be worth mentioning: AHL All-Star Alexandre Giroux, put up 16 goals and 5 assists in 47 games on the same team as Indrasis (who had 14 goals, 12 assists in 43 games). So if he can adapt to the small ice, Indrasis should be a PPG type talent at the AHL level, at the very least.

Uggh, let's blame this on the stress of me being a flood refugee.

I wouldn't put the PPG type burden on him yet.

Giroux scored much better in Hershey and even Oklahoma before his final stint in Springfield.

Also the difference in points on Rig dynamo was assists and Alex actually scored more goals.

Ahem. Arturs and Peteris (see Wiki) both have those tell-tale, S-ending first names

Ehh I wouldn't be too worried about it. He is from a Baltic state and you said a Balkan state, you were almost right.

And this was already pointed out to you. Nevermind. Oops.

Then again I seem to recall Shirokov was looking for a one-way as money was getting to be important, even though he reportedly didn't mind playing another year in the A if he had to. Yet they chose not to give him one and traded him away. So not really much of a precedent for that happening...
Don't think 1-way ELCs exist do they?

I'd forgotten his draft year was in 2009 too. If they don't exist, then my bad. Though if anyone knows, that'd be helpful.

All ELCs are two-way.

The other aspect could very well be lifestyle.

For non-Russians I cant see the idea of playing in some Siberian dump of a city as being super appealing if there are potentially other options.

Have not been there personally...
But I have heard that those Baltic states are surprisingly beautiful...
At least in the capital.
There is a fairy tale-esque vibe to them.

What do you think of Indrasis' hockey sense, by the way? It's something I tend to look out for in a prospect.

It`s pretty good, sometimes i see him giving a pass to someone in an open slot and wondering how did see him there, although his hockey sense on the defensive is not as sharp as it is in offense, but i think that`s one of the focal points he will be working this summer- his defense.
