This just in -

Kate Murray's office objected to the Islanders making the playoffs

“Although we recognize it is every NHL team’s intent to make the playoffs, we feel that Mr Wang and the Islanders in their unbridled attempt to turn a profit did not take into account the increased traffic and congestion would have on the bucolic Hempstead community. We would like to pass an ordinance blocking the future former tenant hockey team from playing home game in the playoffs. Barring the injunction can be inacted in time for the first round, I am asking the community board to pass an ordinance that makes it illegal to honk horns in the parking lot after victories since it disrupts the sleeping pattern of our pygmy goats.

PS - Hey SnoWang and John Tavares, this team was supposed to suck and no one would have noticed our incompetence when you guys left and I cut the ribbon on a new Slimfast Center in the Nassua County Veterans Memorial Strip Mall.!"

- Kate Murray

Maybe i am getting soft. I want to see the rangers make the Playoffs.
It would nice for the jets too. I just think Both the Islanders and Rangers making it in will be good for NY hockey and maybe grow the sport here

I'd rather see the Rangers miss the playoffs, see Columbus make it and watch the excuses and teeth gnashing, from homers like Sam Rosen.

Over the last week, Islanders have sold more than 1,000 new full season tickets for 2013-14. #YayNassau

Anyone buy tickets yet from Stubhub?

I was looking at them earlier and they were 70 bucks, I checked again last night and those same seats were like 110!

I don't know if they are going to keep rising. I wish I bought them before. Do you guys think the price will keep rising, or will it go down as the playoffs approach?

I really dont want to wait too long and have to miss out.

Wait until night before or morning of then buy them, people drop the prices last minute. Some pull them off and try to go to the arena and sell them but most cave and cut their prices.

I'm so jealous of your ticket prices I got tickets for the Leafs for $600 from the official sale not second hand .

Best of luck for the playoffs but please let us play Montreal!!!

I've tried to do that during the regualr season a few times

I'm just worried that since its the playoffs, the price might never drop! People might be willing to pay whatever and they might sell out in a few days.

Maybe I should buy one now, just to guaruntee that I get a ticket, and then maybe buy one for game 4 using this strategy

I also saw a bunch of people selling tickets for what would be game 7 of the first round, which obviously won't happen considering Isles won't have home ice advantage haha.

Stubhub was not a factor last time the Isles were in the playoffs. No way of knowing if the last-minute price slashing will continue into the playoffs.

you should have Purchased them from TicketMaster.
They were there for most of yesterday. I know a few people who were still buying tickets at 8pm Last night.
I think the price on Stubhub will Go up a tiny bit but nothing Major IMO. If we make Round 2 stb hub prices will be alot higher i think.

Regular Season the Day of method works Fantastic.
I do not think that will work for playoffs. Its all about Supply and Demand.
Regular season games almost never sellout. Playoffs Almost always sell out. So Demand will be high why supply is slow.
Were in the Regular Season Supply is Super High and deamnd is Nill

Glenn Healy, trashing the Isles on fan590 on my drive home. Saying the isles have no chance isn't the playoffs against teams like the Pens, even without Sid. "Pass the bottle" he says. The guy's a tool, no sense of loyalty. Probably hasn't watched an Isles game all year.

Other games for us to watch:

Rags @ Canes 7pm..I now the Rags are not very good on the road and Staal 4.0 will be playing (Jared). I think the Canes could possibly get the win here. Prediction - Hurricanes 3-2 in OT

TML @ Florida 7:30pm. The TML have a back to back on the road but not much travel between the games. Florida is fresh but still are the worst team in the NHL. Can Florida play spoilers again tonight? I doubt it. Prediction - TML 4 FLA 2
Neuvirth in nets.

I see us playing the penguins in the 1st round. Maybe a 8% chance to win the series but what the hell...maybe it will happen.

I can't believe we are going to finish 8th and have to face the Pens. Thrilled to have the playoffs, but man it looks like we are getting that 8th seed again as always.

If the Isles don't get 2 tomorrow, then its a lock for Eighth. Rangers are killing the Devs and Ott will win at least 1 of their last 2.

Unreal that the Rangers get two goals late and I knew the Isles would lose tonight. Oh well... I gotta think positive. Cmon Caps

Remember all the polls over the last 8 years on here...where many fans would vote they would rather finish last (and get the good draft pick) then get the 8th seed (knowing how difficult it is to win in that slot). I wonder if they still feel that way.
