Western Conference Playoff Goalies - #3

We are going to rank the goalies that are in the playoff in the Western Conference for RIGHT NOW. Meaning, which goalie would you want in your teams net going into the playoffs that start in less than 1 week. Cap hit, age, potential don't come into play here. Simply who would you rather have backstop your team right now.

1. Jonathan Quick
2. Cory Schneider
3.
4.
5.
6.
7.
8.
9.
10.

Voted Luongo. No one else has the playoff experience he has and the last couple years he has played far more calm than ever before.

Now it starts to get more open, before Quick and Schneider were the clear top 2 IMO.

For me it comes down to Luongo and Bobrovsky. Bob is hot, but Lu has experience and has shown his great play in the past in the 2nd season.

Probably a bias choice but I am going with Lu, I think Bobrovsky will probably bring the same quality of play but I like the experience factor/edge Lu has.

How did Schneider beat Bob, Niemi, Halak, Lehtonen, or Hiller?

Lehtonen > Schneider

Bobrovsky is playing like Rinne in his prime right now.

Luongo should be #2 in the real world.

is the Mike Smith hype over yet?

Because Canucks. More of them around here. Not to mention these polls seem to be on an hourly pace.

I forgot about Lehtonen. He's been ridiculous this year. Definitely a player to watch in the future. As Dallas matures, he'll probably get some Vezina nominations in his career.

maybe rename the thread to Western conference goalies, and get rid of "playoff" then?

Dallas is 4 pts out with only 2 games left. They're 3 pts behind the 9th place team. Dallas and playoffs is a long-shot at this point.

Never thought I'd witness a Bobrovsky vs Luongo poll.

Thats what I am trying to figure out, but apparently it was a given.

I voted Niemi.

Luongo's best playoff was in 06 07, his first apperance, other than that the year he made it to the final he played really well. I would not call him a great playoff goaltender though.

If Vancouver has the 2 and 3 top goalies than they better be winning a cup.

Only one of these goalies has a cup and is a current Vezina candidate.

Because he's better than them?

The Canucks have played lacklustre, injury-riddled hockey all year and Schneider has been their MVP. He's been outright dominant and is the reason they won the Northwest. Seriously, I don't think people realize how defensively poor the Canucks have been this season.
