I don't know much about the Leafs but as far as what the article says about the Kings I would have to agree 100%. The Kings would have had a lot more success and perhaps even a cup if they would have just decided to keep their 1st round picks. In fact I think the we've been lucky to come away with a lot of late round steels such as Taylor, Robitaille, Blake, Goring, etc.

I disagree with the Hrudey being one of their best players in franchise history. They would have had 2 cups in 90 & 93 if it wasn't for Hrudey.

Ten best players: Marcel Dionne, Luc Robitaille, Wayne Gretzky, Dave Taylor, Bernie Nicholls, Rob Blake, Rogie Vachon, Butch Goring, Charlie Simmer, Kelly Hrudey.
Agree? Disagree? IMO, if you're going with just 10 players like Lessard, Fox, Hardy, Berry, Duchesne, Granato, Kurri, McSorley, Mike Murphy, Norstrom, Wells and Palffy don't make the cut.

I have no problems with him being in there, though it's close between him and Lessard IMO. Who would you put in his place?

I always liked Hrudey growing up, and it was obvious his team mates really liked him as well. However I would agree that goaltending was (still is) a big weakness for the Kings. He did play awesome in the '93 playoffs but other than that he didn't do anything too special with the Kings.

I don't know. I think the guy played pretty damn well considering he was facing an inordinate amount of shots...and particularly high quality shots at that. He was top 5 in the NHL in shots faced pretty much every year he was with the team. I'm sure not saying he was "great" but seriously, once you get to about #9 or #10, who would you name? Lessard? Hardy? Berry? Norstrom? Palffy? Granato?

Hey Hrudey sucked. But all goalies sucked when he played, so you can't fault him. They would just stand up and kick at all the pucks that were shot at them.
