Goal differential of +2 so the same as the Islanders and better than Minnesota, just not timely distribution. Also 145 goals scored ties them for third in the league but inconsistent goaltending wasted a lot of good nights for the forwards.
Actually a very talented group to be benefitting from a top 5 pick. I pick Nurse or Zadorov for them, and a rebound next year.
I'm not worried. I've decided let the chips fall where they may. If we face Washington, I think it would be a good series, and not as "DOOM. GLOOM." as you all are making it out to be. (because truthfully, I don't believe if we faced Montreal it would be all "easy as pie." as everyone is making it out to be.)
we need to get out there and establish our game early. Clearly, because the Leafs are WEIRD - they'll probably look more tired in the first period, as is their custom, and turn it on as the period goes on, but if we get to the Panthers first, and just establish our game that would be good.
I personally wouldn't have dressed Kostka AND O'Bryne last night, I would have played them in this game, and given Gardiner/Liles yesterday (as Tampa is fast, and Panthers, no so much, but, eh). I don;t know who is supposed to be in the lineup, but I know they will play well.
we need at LEAST a point tonight to keep above NYI, but I think basically
we need 3 (minimum) and they need 4 (maximum) to take over 5th.
or everyone else needs to lose. lol
Losing to Tampa or the Panthers is not out out of the question. NYR fighting desperately for a spot, found a way to lose against them. The Florida teams have nothing to lose, they can take chances teams with something on the line can't. Invariably your going to either get unpredictable games. I imagine, having clinched, also creeps into the mindset of Leaf players. I can see them losing this one as well. They want to win, but that fear of losing is not as pronounced in their game, its plausible they go 0-2 in Florida.
