we better win this one because NYIs are knocking on the door... I would rather face Habs than Caps...

If this game didn't mean so much, I would wish that Phaneuf would be a healthy scratch and give him some rest for the postseason. Back to back nights at the end of the season is such a kick in the teeth with all the hockey they've been playing and the amount that he's been on the ice.

Carlyle: 'We're here to win a hockey game on Friday night ... or what's today? Thursday? Today's Thursday. We got to focus on Thursday.'

Lol it's funny how when Carlyle first got hired people were acting like this dude was some army drill sergeant hardass with no emotion, but he's actually a pretty big joker. He seems more like that cool gym teacher you had in high school that was just "one of the guys" despite his older age, but still pushed you physically in a way that you would want to make him proud. Of course he's still stern, but he's honest and he's shown this year he knows when to keep things loose and when to tighten up a bit (no dirty jokes please).

I know, I just mean they'll arrange the schedule to ensure that the Leafs fall on a Saturday. Whether they have home ice or not, they should get the Saturday IMO. We'll see though.

To me, it is pretty much a given. Tuesday/Thursday/Saturday.

Unless we face Bruins (or maybe Sens). Then, the series might start on Wednesday given their busy schedule lately.

i see comparison with eakins, eakins not a joker like randy, but are serious when they need to be, a players coach, and keeps pushing them

randy is a great coach, made a few odd choices, but mostly, done a great job,
plus seems very pissed off when the team plays terrible, but when they play well, always gives them credit

How I see it:

Home Ice:
Wednesday/Thursday
Saturday

Non-Home Ice:
Tuesday
Thursday
Saturday (so still at home)

I guess even if we have home ice they could do the second set, but I can see them wanting the Saturday game to be in Toronto. It would just add more to it, IMO of course.

They just had two days off..

About the schedule. I would assume it would go Tuesday (April 30th), Thursday (May 2nd), Saturday (May 4th), Tuesday (May 7th), Thursday (May 9th), Saturday (12th), and then game 7 on a Monday or Tuesday.

Also another reason I'd like to see a win and a Habs loss is because it sets up Saturday's game perfectly. Last game of the year, home ice on the line, can't get any better than that!!

Except for the next 4-7 games against them right after this Saturday's game.

Would add more excitement outside of the joy that comes from beating the Habs itself.

Selfishly I hope that game is meaningless. I had to sell that one so I can watch the kids while my wife goes on a girls weekend.

That's seriously a perfect description of Randy. He's a coach I trust because he's earned it.

Forsure, I usually watch game-day skates and he plays around with lots of guys, like when he was owning Kadri in practice face-offs he was pushing him around and laughing with him. Cool guy.

Please win, last night was a stinker and coasting into the post-season isn't the way to go.
