Stalberg, Bickell, Higgins, Lapierre...the list of solid UFA bottom-6 players is long. Oilers need to be active on UFA day.

This is becoming one of the worst organizations in pro sports of all time. Ladies and Gentlemen...your Edmonton Oilers!

They brought it up during the game on the TSN, how 3 weeks ago this team was in 8th, and was play good hockey, and I'm suprised how passive the team has been towards the whole situation since then. (yes Tambo was fired, but the whole ho-hum attitude towards the slide) It's like coaching/management/players all expected it and it's par for the course.

There's a number of guys just going through the motions right now, to a level that would make Patrick O'Sullivan proud. Watching this team now, they're acting like this entire season has been a write off, but just 3 weeks ago, hell even 2, they were right in the thick of things.

I really wonder what led to this collapse. It reminds me of the end for the poem "the Hollow Men"

This is the way the world ends
This is the way the world ends
This is the way the world ends
Not with a bang but a whimper.

Seems rather fitting for this team.

Can we just concede the last 2 games. Then the "Team" can dress in unitards and do interpretive dance for the fans because they definitely don't have a clue on how to play hockey. The paying fans should get a refund

Really? It feels like Kesler/Sedin, Getzlaf/Perry, Kopitar/Brown, Hanzal/Doan, Thornton/Marleau have been around on those teams since the last lockout.

The Pacific Division is beastly.

Honestly I think Kreuger might get fired by the powers above just based on this last season ending stretch... an optics move to give this franchise some "hope for the future ™" .

Ruff please.

And for the love of god, turf Bucky and Smith, and let Ruff pick his own damn assistants.

@SportsnetSpec: No inside info. Just spidey senses. 20-+ years around NHL, teams that play passionless like this tend to get a new coach.

@EdmontonOilers: "The lessons are right there in front of us. We got the outcome we deserved because of our puck management." - Coach Krueger

@GenePrincipe: Ralph Krueger "It's extremely painful when we know to be simple and play patient. We need to have something good to happen in Minnesota."

There better be at least 12 Roster changes next year, starting with the defense or will still be in trouble.

They're not but they should be able to chip in the odd goal. When's the last time anyone did that?

The top 6 probably feel like they have to do all the work because there's nothing coming from anyone else.

Look at the team that just beat us: Bickell, Stalberg, Shaw, all 9 goals. Bolland 7.

Meanwhile our bottom 6... There's one guy with more than 3 goals and that's Horcoff. And that's if you don't count PRV has a bottom 6 guy.

The NHL could honestly investigate the Oilers for tanking.

Luckily after one look at Lowe and his 6 cup rings they'd realize just how deluded and crappy this organization has become.

This ****ing guy.
What a nightmare.

Nevermind, i misunderstood the quote. I thought he was saying that they deserved a better outcome because of their puck management, seemed like a Krueger type of thing to say.

Higgins got resigned by the Canucks 4 yrs 2.5m per. But I would love any of those 3 players. The whole bottom six needs to get revamped. Everyone there has got to go.

I've jumped ship for the time being watching them play just hurts. I prefer watching teams that try to win every night.

The confidence in Krueger from the Oilers has got to be looking pretty thin.

In my opinion we have been playing without a head coach all year. Just 3 crappy assistants who shouldn't be sniffing an NHL job.

Yep I'd bet that our bottom 6 players are way behind the rest of the league for bottom 6 scoring. Most of Horcoff's goals are PP bank shots as well.

Remember when some posters would chastise the GDTs, and PGTs for being negative? Where'd all those guys go? Tough to be so damn cheery now eh?

This team makes my tears burst into tears.

Will be happy when this board turns to OKC, WHC, and OK hockey talk.
