I turned the game on with 1:03 left in the third. Cannot ask for a better scenario to to see Alex score Two shoot out goals! Amazing

Very happy with what I saw of our two players, but man Granlund is good. Why did his game not translate well to the nhl?

Same move on both attempts? No problem.

Galchenyuk is something special. He's going to be a hero here in Montreal. The pressure doesn't seem to faze him and he is so calm and mature for his age. On a side note, Kristo is going to be one hell of a player for the Habs, sooner than later.

Took a quick look at the stats (the shootout winning goal in European hockey counts as a goal).

Galchenyuk finishes the tournament with;
4 GP, 2 G, 0 A, -3, 15:30 TOI/G.

Kristo finishes with;
10 GP, 1 G, 2 A, -1, 10:22 TOI/G.

The most surprising thing I saw though... Matt Hunwick with 4 points and a +9.

Congrads Habs from a Jets fan.......Gally and Gibson were the heros in the shootout and for my money (homer goggles alert) Trouba was the most dangerous US defender 4 on 4 in OT.

Pretty impressive 19 year olds

Gally is definatley going to be a star!

Every time I see this guy play I can't help but think "Is he really ours?"

I mean years have passed without the Habs ever getting elite talent. It's always been sub-par to mediocre. And now we finally have a player who can potentially carry a team and be the player this franchise has longer for. It's unbelievable.

Trouba may very well be the best defenceman from that 2012 crop of D's from my vantage point, he was terrific every time I saw him in this tournament.

Big day for @AGally94 congrats kid!!! Showed him that move.. Or maybe showed him what not to do #rockhands

Poor defensively and not strong enough physically seems to be the main explanation.

Of course, but with Galchenyuk it's different. How many years has this franchise been at the search for a big centre man, with the talent and work ethic to carry the team? No disrespect to Saku, Plekanec, Desharnais...but drafting Galchenyuk marked a new era for this franchise. Montreal finally has the one thing you can't work to get, you have it or you don't, and that's talent.

Columbus fans must not be too happy right now. Murray will be a stud defensively... one day, but Galchenyuk is a stud right now. They could have used him now and the future.
