He's been bad since coming back from his concussion. Hasn't been the same player at all

I don't like to throw the R word around but some of those clowns have to be motivated at least partially by racism.

I only got to see about half the game so far as I had to go back to work but I thought he was one of the better players for USA and had a real nice setup to Stapleton but he couldn't convert it on the doorstep.

Also liked what I saw from Kristo, on the goal he scored, he was working hard down low and was a big part of sustaining pressure which led to his 1st ever goal at the WC's.

Chuckie stood out for most of the game. He and his linemate Oshie were two of the best skaters for USA and got plenty of ice in offensive situations. Chuckie made some good moves and was mostly looking to dish the puck. he seemed to be adjusting to the extra time and space he had. most of his dekes were moves to the outside before passing. i hope to see him try dekeing to the net or middle of the ice to get a shot off next game. His line got PP chances but looked out of synch and while chuckie looked good skating with the puck on his stick he wasn't getting the puck in scoring positions.

Kristo was also a standout, for good and bad reasons. He got a shot on the top line and looked good scoring a goal. He had PP time and was out for an extended shift at the end of the third with the net empty as the US tried to narrow the 3-1 lead. He was comfortable playing the point in extra man situations but this lead to the bad part of his game; with the net empty he was the first man back to gather the puck behind his net but he then coughed it up for the 4-1 dagger goal with 1:30 left.

So, he's playing like he did for the habs.

I liked the Kristo goal.

Yeah, but I wouldnt be shocked if his ice-time got cut down to less than 10 minutes for the turnover leading to Dano's goal.

I don't know which game you saw but probably not the same as I did. There was one error in the first period where he missed his man (but his partner Blum was also to blame because he didn't attack his man correctly), otherwise he was solid and fine for the first game on big ice.
Diaz will play together with Roman Josi in the quarters.

Anybody else find it a bit strange that Sweden took a pile of players from the SEL and Nygren isn't on the squad?

Second period ended a while ago.

It took all but a few seconds on the one shift he gets with USA's top line players for him to score.

And what a goal it was.

Loved the celebration too . ''You? no, you. Okay you too!''
