From Montreal, although it would be a marketing disaster of sorts, I'd propose:

Theodore
Koivu
Zednik
Souray

for

Spezza
Havlat
Volchenkov

Habs then pick up one of Toskala, Biron, Lalime, Cechmanek in a second trade

Sens

Zednik Koivu Alfredsson
Schaeffer White Hossa
Varada Fisher Langfeld
Vermette Smolinski Neil

Chara Phillips
Redden DeVries
Souray Pothier

Theodore
Prusek

Habs

Higgins Spezza Havlat
Ryder Ribeiro Perezhogin
Bulis Bonk Sundstrom/Hossa
Plekanec Begin Ward

Markov Rivet
Volchenkov Brisebois
Hainsey Komisarek

Toskala? Biron?
Huet

the Sens get a bit more brittle in the process (Koivu and Souray), but this lineup might just give them the push to lead them to the Cup. I guess the value of this trade depends on how high you see Theodore in the Nhl goaltending hierarchy.

As for the Habs, they get younger, lose leadership but add a lot of skill and some grit in Vochenkov.

Maybe not as good as the Dallas package though...

If I remember correctly, Spezza was shut down in the playoffs his draft year by Stephen Weiss. That was a large part of why the Panthers had drafted Weiss. It was talked about a lot when the kid got drafted.

From a Boston point of view id offer up a good package for them three. Id be interested to hear what peeps would think of this...

To Boston:
Havlet,Spezza, Volchenkov

To Ottawa:
Joe Thornton,Brad Boyes

Id hate to give up Big Joe, But if he wanted out of Boston, thats the kind of deal id love to see go down. Well actually id like to replace havlet with hossa, but hey, ya cant have everything

Its time the Avs re-load...Sakic still has some top level hockey left in him...but he needs some fresh talent around him...I'll take Spezza,Volchenkov and Havlat...for the rights to Peter Forsberg + Rob Blake,Marek Svatos and Dan Hinote.
That gives the Sens plenty of Stanley Cup exp. and puts them into an unparalleld level of defence.

...If the Sens were interested in throwing in Greg Devries..we would pick up 25% of Blake/Forsberg's combined salary.

Forsberg and Blake need to retire...they're done.

No deal...

I don't think they're done just yet....but they have done all they can do in Denver...Forsberg would work wuth anybody you want in Ottawa...and centre or the Wing...Blake has lots of top hockey left in him...The Avs were dead in the water without him vs SanJose...Hinote brings the grit and savvy so sorely lacking in Ottawa...and best of all...If Ottawa grabbed Blake...Leafs fans would be SUPER pi$$ed

I dont' think Ottawa could afford to take on Joe. The expected new landscape will likely dictate Joe to someone like Columbus (assets and low cap value) but that's a different thread.....

Havlat is tradeable because of our RW position.

Volchenkov is the golden throw in.

NO...the Sens aren't rebuilding, but I'm looking for a playoff "non choking" team here.

I want players who step it up during the playoffs and don't know how to lose. I'm not looking for museum pieces...I want players with at least a 5 year shelf life at the very minimum.
Thornton and Raycroft.
