Need to take out the Untouchables part where Connery says "That's the Chicago way"

I am glad we are playing Chicago over van or anh. Yes, I'm a little biased because I'm definitely going to go to Game 1 or 5 (hopefully). But beyond this, based on performance over the last month -- it looks like the most lopsided SCP match up in a long time. That underestimation could really help us. If we can win one of the first two at Chicago...I think we got a chance to take the series.

Plus, this could be the flame and gasoline to a long doused out rivalry.

Just what we needed!! A pregame (series) thread! The last one started the month long tail spin. This one will get us out of it! Genius.

They almost have to nominate Suter. He won't win it though, it'll be either Subban or Letang, with Suter finishing a very distant 3rd.

You know Parise, Suter and Koivu will will this team to a victory or two! But Chicago is too talented so we need help from their goaltenders!

Meh Hawks are so overhyped. Their goalies will melt.

No offense, but I highly doubt that a thread on an internet message board caused the Wild to lose games.

Hope and Fear:
Hope second line can be trusted with more minutes played when the score is even or we're ahead, and not just as a blind grenade (Zucker) lob at the enemy when we're being overrun.
Fear Suter will collapse under the strain of playing injured and being leaned on because we have no other choice. In that regard I'm thankful we are not playing LA or STL. He is one "hit the wrong way" away from being done.

as it stands i think we take a game, but it could go sweep if we remain distracted and uptight (or Suter collapses) or it could go longer if we come in loose with the underdog attitude.

I think we would have had a really good chance of beating Vanny, and a decent chance against the Ducks.

But I would be thrilled if we won even one game in this series against the Hawks. They just dominate us, and I want to punch Patrick Kane every time I see his smug little face.

I get a kick out of hearing everyone thinking we don't have a chance in hell to do anything against Chicago. My guess is about 90% of those people were the same ones who laughed at the thought of us ever landing Parise and Suter. Many of them are also the same ones who said Parise and Suter will never experience playoffs with the Wild.

Well, we allowed them to choke on their laughter when we landed Parise and Suter... and last night we just proved them wrong again when we landed a playoff spot.

I also love this underdog role. We can come out against Chicago free and loose. We will see what happens.

I'm just glad our guys will be getting some playoff experience; this can only help them in future years.

If we even get the Hawks to game 6, I'll think it will be respectable enough. Yes, yes, I know 2003 could happen, Kings last year and all that, but I really don't see that much cohesion and potential with this team - sue me, and I'll happily be wrong.

Even if we lose, I just want us to bring it to the Hawks and play a strong game. This team has more than enough talent to make the damned Hawks have to earn their victories - no bs games where we completely fall apart and are just an embarrassment on the ice.

I'm very very very much expecting Koivu to step up his game big time. His style of play is made for playoffs and he hasn't been looking much good lately. Will be hugely dissapointed if he doesn't step it up. I have no doubt that Parise will be beast in playoffs no matter what.

We had a pregame thread for a game in Dallas that week.... Okay /trying to be funny.

After sleeping on it last night I'm getting excited for this series. I think we have a fighters chance. Get ready for some dump and chase though. We cant hang with these guys skating up and down the ice. We gotta play smartly. Win games like 2-1.

Hopefully Stoner doesn't have too many assists. Then we will be in trouble.

two of the three games vs CHI were close. i don't hold much hope for a long series but i don't expect we'll be severely bent over in any Oiler-like fashion.

Minnesota Chicago playoff hockey! The big, bad Black Hawks!

I feel like i'm in a time warp.

I hope Koivu takes a dislike to Kane, and they fight, and a REAL rivalry gets underway.

The Wild should hire Ciccarelli in some capacity(resident flasher perhaps?), just to stir the pot.

I'm actually somewhat happy we got the Hawks because they're my least favorite team. I'm really hoping this series causes the bandwagon Hawks fans in Minnesota to hate them too.

All the pressure is on the Hawks. If the Wild can steal one in Chicago and come back to St Paul tied 1-1, the X will be in a frenzy and maybe, just maybe, the Hawks might start gripping their sticks a little tighter and who knows?
