Hell if Allen is gone go ahead and take Nassib anyways.

I'm sick of not having a QB. Give me ALL THE QBS

I'll defend that pick, because that's the guy the new coach wanted to go all in with, and he knows Nassib better than anyone. I think they could have safely dropped back a little more, though, but whatev, we got our guy, and grabbed that extra pick(which we kinda peed away anyways).

Where do you put them after cuts?? Shall they all just sit on the bench pretending they're interested. If we can get Allen, grab him, if not, get the honey badger.

I'm not sure why this is being argued. If I would have told you yesterday that I had a crystal ball and the Bills were going to take EJM at #41, most people would have considered *that* a reach. We very likely (note: not definitely) could have had Milliner and Manuel. The "why risk missing out on your guy" logic lead to us taking Losman, McCargo, Whitner, Troup, and others way higher than they were projected with disastrous results. It was a very stupid draft pick.
Again, your "most people" is just pundits, which means nothing. You have no idea what the other team's QB ratings were/are.

Also, teams trade up or "reach" all the time based on the "why risk it" mentality. Works out for some, not for others. The fact that it didn't work out a few times for past Bills regimes is irrelevant.

"Reaches" are just disagreements between pundit and team opinion, anyways. Before the pick, all the coverage after we traded down was anticipating Nassib, and all the pundits thought it was fine and made sense and were prepared to lavish praise. Then they pick Manuel instead, carrying out the same strategy but following through with a different player that they liked better. But then all of a sudden this was all a bad idea according to the pundits! Instead of saying, 'maybe Manuel is actually better, the Bills did study these guys 100x more than we did after all', the line was 'wow bills fail'.

The options to compare are:

1. Guaranteed Milliner at 8, possibility of Manuel at 41.
2. Guaranteed Manuel at 16, possibility of xyz at 41, abc at 46.
3. Guaranteed Jones at 16, possibility of Manuel at 41, abc at 46.

Which option you prefer depends on how you rate Manuel in a vacuum and relative to the other QBs, how highly you rate the other position prospects available, and who you think might be chosen between 8/16/41. Pretending that this is black & white stupidity/genius is silly.

I get that the bills got the qb they wanted, and didn't want to risk losing him but as I'm watching all these qb's still out there I'm just shaking my head. They better hope Manuel ends up being the real deal I could see him busting and having guys like Jones and Eiffert being great players in the NFL

I would take Nassib/Barkley if they are around at #3 as it gives them 2 options to look at in training camp and if both look like they potentially are keeping you cut bait with one of Kolb/Jackson and carry 3 QB's. Best case scenario is both develop and you deal one for a boatload of picks later on, if not you at least get 2 options at hitting the jackpot.

Why do people keep assuming the Bills liked Nassib??

The funniest part of all this is how so many dopey Bills fans wanted Nassib/Barkley at #8 overall.

Kolb's contract doesn't have much guaranteed money, so it would be really easy to cut him.

Even funnier is the genius Kiper had Geno at 4, and Barkley as the next qb.

...and Te'o ahead of Ogletree at 20, etc, etc.

Again, I want veterans teaching youth. That's why I'd rather have Dansby than Alonso.

My guess is CB or TE. I can't believe Greene and Allen are still on the board. How funny would Barkley be here!

I have to admit, I kinda sorta want Armstead....

Going with BPA: Allen, Moore, Greene are all options. Should be interesting. They do need a CB though

Is Warford still out there? If Allen goes, then maybe go G? He'd have to be a value pick atp.(oh, nm, Buddy would rather reach for his guy he penciled in last week).

If we go Moore, then we may as well cut Mark Anderson, and lil Williams.. Fill the holes first Buddy.

Extra OL body for camp.

grrrrrrrrrrrrr

Bright side is we're 'supposed' to go aggressive soon, which will only happen after Buddy's gone. Maybe him, Troup and Easley can carpool to the airport.
