Eaton and Vokoun were 16. Marky was probably driving a beat up AMC Concord around the suburbs of Wilmington while TV was probably driving around a vespa in the spa city of Karlovy Vary.

Any idea what the legal driving age is in the Czech Republic?

Legal driving age in Czech Republic is 18 but maybe Vokoun was flaunting Johnny Law.

Glad it the Caps - not the Pens - that will be facing the Rangers in the first round.

Yeah, I think the Rangers are easily the best team out of Rangers - Islanders - Senators.

Vespa? Nah, it was probably a Škoda or a Velorex.

I'm also wondering if our playoffs would be pushed back 1 day due to Ottawa having to play last this season. I don't know arena availability, but do you guys think that is plausible? Everyone else seems to think Wednesday is it.

If the game is on Wednesday, that gives two days off for Ottawa. I don't see a problem there.

I'm hoping for Boston in OT. I think the Isles are the worst team, I'd rather delay playing Boston as long as possible, and I am also very intrigued by a MON-TOR playoff series.

I hope so. I'll miss at least half of any wednesday games for the next month.

I'm not going to root for a particular matchup for the Penguins, but I feel like the non-Penguins series in the "Boston Wins in Overtime" match-ups are the best (from an entertainment standpoint).

Go Boston in OT!

If Gary really loved us, he'd postpone our 1st game until Sid is ready.

CEC is booked Tuesday but available Wednesday. Canes announcers last night said Pens will open their playoff series on Wednesday, as well. Most likely...

1. Wed @ PIT
2. Fri @ PIT
3. Sun @ OTT/NYI
4. Tue @ OTT/NYI
5. Thu @ PIT
6. Sat @ OTT/NYI
7. Mon @ PIT

No, as a matter of fact, I'm sure he'll play Wednesday, but he's not going to be 100%.

With the pain/discomfort of the jaw, having to get used to the protector, and the weight loss, he's probably no more than 75%.

So he'll just barely be the best player in the world then? Or #2 behind Malkin?

Caps, IMO, are a paper tiger. They've had a nice time defeating South End teams, struggling teams like the Leafs and Habs, but losing to actual playoff clubs like Ottawa. They did manage to beat Boston last night but only because the Bruins started a parade to the penalty box in the third and the Caps have a great powerplay. But it's been a long time since they've beat anyone notable in regulation.

Devil fan here strolling into this thread. I personally think the penguins would be better suited to face Ottawa than the New York Islanders. The Islanders second line has really started to pick it up in this final quarter of the season, which has dramatically altered their previous lack of balance. Then throw in the factor of a very solid Nabakov and the fact that the Islanders get excited to play you guys due to the past incidents (Dipietro-Brent Johnson fight which later fomented into the Gillies incident). But the Islanders aren't very big at the center position in terms of size and physicality.

well like, if the Islanders 2nd Line is what keeps us from making it to the 2nd round, I guess we aren't good enough to win the Cup anyhow.
