Is it me or does this just prove that when Josh pays attention to one of the teams...the other suffers?

They cant handle both lol

I think it actually says more about the pay structure. It is rumored the offer to MU was ~$3m, and he was being paid around ~$500k.

GM of the year is going to want top dollar. He kept the Nuggets playoff bound after losing a superstar.

You have to pay to win in sports today, the Kroenkes are iffy in that department.

no worries the Nuggets won't find a superstar for the next 5 years anyways, so why do we need him to trade another guy?

Dammit! The Nuggets lost their best GM since Joe Dumars.

Yeah Toronto can have him for that price. He isn't 3M per year good and proved he isn't that smart because he just committed career suicide going to work for the Raptors for some extra cash.

The Nuggets will be fine without him, the team is basically built already, they need to add a UFA shooter, they need to re-sign Iggy and Brewer and make a draft pick. That's it. I think whoever they get should be able to handle this.

You pretty much nailed it right on the head with this post. If he had stayed around 1-2 more years he would have been considered one of the elite GMs because I think this team will be playoff bound as long as Karl stays on. If he flops in Toronto he'll be one of those one and done guys.

Then why on earth are we talking about "not being worth that price"? For a GM?!? Who in Hades cares what they pay the GM? Or the VP? Or the guy taking out the trash? It has nothing to do with team salary/cap.

Gotta budget all the rest of these guys when you're probably doling out a large portion of your net income to junior.

Kidding aside, I wonder what he really does make.

Now that GM is gone, Karl is most likely on the hot seat. You guys may get your wish. But to put things in perspective the Clipper would be all over Karl if he was let go.

Exactly, especially when bench players make millions. Most bench players have less influence on the game than the decisions of a the GM.

Oy Chibi, my hometown team Medveščak Zagreb just annonced that Mark French will coach their team in their inagural KHL season. Can you tell me something about him?

And as for Karl, firing him is the most idiotic thing the Nuggets can do at this point in time.

I'm in Karl's corner, which is the minority.

That being said, I'd like Stan Van Gundy or Byron Scott in here if Karl was gone. Byron Scott won't be a popular choice I'm sure, but if the whole reason to get rid of Karl is playoff performance, both those guys are historically solid.

Jeez....

I can't frigging stand Chris Bosh...

And I bet after this game all the "experts" on ESPN (Stephen A. Smith, Chris Broussard, Skip Bayless, etc.) will be just singing his praises all day long.

Go Pacers.

I'd be fine with the Nuggets getting rid of Karl and go full rebuild. This team has too many complementary pieces that I don't think can win anything unless we get someone to step up in a major way.

Try to get in the Wiggins sweepstakes imo and build from there.

I'm not even a basketball fan but I have to wonder if you have a plethora of complementary pieces is it better to sell them in the summer or at the deadline?

I'll be honest, the last time I actually gave more than a passing thought to the NBA was when EA Sports came out with the ground-breaking game One on One: Dr. J vs. Larry Bird for my Commodore64. Stuff has got a lot more real since then but I still enjoy the thrill of getting to see the backboard shatter into 8-bit glory from time to time when I get Larry freaking Bird to dunk.

IDK how many Bronco fans we have on here, but Eric Studesville's (RB coach and former interim HC) parents were hit head on by a tow truck and were killed yesterday. Mike Klis has been tweeting about it.

=(
