All-Time Sabres (with a twist)

I'm bored. It's raining...feel free to add categories.....remember: past or present.

Who's the ugliest Sabre of all-time?

Who's the all-time Sabre you'd most like to punch in the face?

Who's the Sabre you'd most like to hang out and put a few back with?

Name three all-time Sabres that you'd invite to your wedding.

Which all-time Sabre would make the best football player? What position?

Which all-time Sabre would make the best politician?

If you could cast an all-time Sabre in a movie, what would be it be and what role would he play?

Let 'em rip....

I find myself wishing Bobby Holik was a Sabre, so I'd have an answer for this.

Hands down, Matthew Barnaby -- He's a dick on the ice, but everything I've seen of him personally, he's a very down-to-earth guy.

Mike Peca would probably make a decent Safety.

Who's the ugliest Sabre of all-time?
Mike Foligno gets my vote. The guy was a warrior and it showed on his face. The scars, the broken nose, the number of teeth lost. Matthew Barnaby and Vaclav Varada aren't exactly pretty boys either. Varada gets the nod over the Rat because of all the extra damage his face has received over the years.

Who's the all-time Sabre you'd most like to punch in the face?
Ken Sutton, the guy handled the puck like a live grenade. I was never a fan of Michal Grosek. Brian Holzinger was another player I'd like to knock the eff out. All the speed in the world with no hands. Didn't go to the net and I don't recall him ever receiving a cut or two on that pretty face of his. Let's not forget he's the same moron that allowed Brett Hull to stand in the crease.

Who's the Sabre you'd most like to hang out and put a few back with?
Mike Grier, to learn more about his background. I'd like to know how he feels to be one of the few minorities in the NHL.

Name three all-time Sabres that you'd invite to your wedding.
Pat LaFontaine, Doug Gilmour, Rob Ray

Which all-time Sabre would make the best football player? What position?
Mike Grier, he comes from a football family. The guy's built like a running back. Also, I think Alexander Mogilny would have made a heck of a receiver with his speed and hand eye coordination.

Which all-time Sabre would make the best politician?
Pat LaFontaine

If you could cast an all-time Sabre in a movie, what would be it be and what role would he play?
Mika Noronen could be cast as Lance Bass in film about the rise and fall of NSync. Not sure if Mika has as much rhythm as Lance, but he's a goaltender, it shouldn't be THAT difficult for him to pick up a few dance moves. With the right choreographers he'll be fine.

I'll give this a crack since I didn't offer any answers up when starting the thread....

Hmmm...I'm going with Brad Brown. Dude is just very ooo-glay. Hannu Virta was kind of strange looking. Honorbale mention to Foligno.

I think Tom Barrasso always had it coming to him.

I think Brian Spencer would've been an interesting study while getting plowed.

Dominik Hasek (bartender), Curtis Brown (Justice of the Peace), Larry Playfair (just to keep my friends in line). Then of course, the French Connection could come and sing "That's Amore"...

Vaclav Varada would be a helluva fullback. He could lead with his melon and knock people around with his cro-magnon jaw. Sometimes I wonder if Doug Bodger had a little Joe Montana in him?

Which all-time Sabre would make the best politician?
Rob Ray, for the people by the people.

I'd cast Don Edwards as Richie Cunningham in "Happy Days - The Late years"......and of course there's Steve Shields who could steal the show as Carl in "Slingblade II".

Hands down, gotta be Vaclav Varada. He always looked like a caveman. I always pictured Ruff going over to him, putting his fist into his hand, and V would grunt, hop over the boards, and go "Vaclav..SMASH!" everytime he hit someone.

Who's the all-time Sabre you'd most like to punch in the face?
Thats a tough one, we've had quite a few winners here. #1 I think would be Michal Grosek. Big guy, absolute p***y in the corners and front of the net. He would come into a place I used to work and buy Beanie Babies with his wife after practices. Just imagine a czech accent asking you to see Stripes the Tiger.

Who's the Sabre you'd most like to hang out and put a few back with?
Rhett Warrener was always fun when he'd show up on Main St, however, person who I have been with in the bars, but would love to see plastered, Mika Noronen.

Name three all-time Sabres that you'd invite to your wedding.
Curtis Brown (fellow Jeff Gordon fan and all around great guy, had a conversation with him for nearly 2 hours) and Pat LaFontaine for sure. Two of the coolest guys I have ever met (Even though you slashed my stick in two when we for a puck in the corner at your hockey school Patty, lol) I'd have to pick then between Martin Biron or Ryan Miller. Marty talks way too much, so probably Ry, very funny, down to earth guy (like most hockey players)

Which all-time Sabre would make the best football player? What position?
Jerry Korab, DL. Man was a beastly lookin guy on the ice.

Which all-time Sabre would make the best politician?
Pat LaFontaine, most charismatic player in Sabres history.

If you could cast an all-time Sabre in a movie, what would be it be and what role would he play?
Jim Schoenfeld in any musical. Seriously, maybe Mogilny when he first came to Buffalo and didn't speak and only rode trains, as Rainman.
