Ugh, I forgot how unbearable Toronto becomes when the Leafs are "in the Playoffs."

DO IT
Except that hinges on the result of another game. This game alone cannot clinch or lose anything.

When?
In the 2000s, or at least early part the leafs were pretty much assured the 2nd round since they always faced Ottawa

No, if the habs do indeed win and Boston loses in regulation today, or tomorrow habs get it.

I find Leafs fans, well the ones I associate with at least, pretty self loathing and just waiting for the Leafs to fail right now. Last 5 years broke a lot of them.

On HF though the crazies seem to be much more active.

Oh no, those made sense, you dont fight when you just know youll win. Theyre just following Cherry's code.

Kadri being the toughest of thedm all as he has been blessed by Cherry. The patron saint of loud, obnoxious.........suits. (what? You expected a different answer)

It's better than 1st round disappointment, no ? They were considered contenders, too.

If Leafs fans did that, your opinion would be totally different...you'd probably laugh at us if we cheered during a pathetic loss where the Leafs missed the playoffs.
If you missed the playoffs by a couple of points and cheered your team at season's end???

Hell, even WE cheered the team LAST year after the final game and coming dead last!!

I honestly wouldn't laugh at the crowd for cheering the leafs if they had come that close this season and not made it. I would have found it funny (the situation), but to cheer for your team after a season of battling hard is not IMO pathetic.

It's not that all leaf fans are horrible people or something, just that the media turns a lot of rational ones into emotional rollercoasters who act like teenagers, some OLDER folks have a deep hatred for the Habs (who I've bantered with playfully) and there are lots who suddenly become interested in spring training when the leafs are doing badly. We all have our outliers, but to go from setting a post (previous) lockout record for missing the playoffs to making it and acting a little too cocky, that's just annoying. I'm glad for you guys and some of you are humble. The rest, since it's been so long, do not remember that the playoffs are a whole new ball game. Best not be cocky.

They went all the way to the ECF once in the early 2000's and twice in the '90s. A decade in which they were fairly dominant apart for 2 seasons.

Let's not put our heads in the sand folks

I can respect that, but I don't think people are being cocky. In fact most of us are humble and just simply... happy. Happy that the drought is over, nothing more. A few blow-hards here and there but, irrationals are on both sides of the fence. (Excluding the 14 yr old internet tough guys on this forum)

But anyways as I said before good luck tonight guys have fun I hope its an exciting game either way!

I don't care if we crush them or not, just beat them! They'll be unbearable going into this next week if they beat us tonight and we face them in the first round.

I grew up a "Leafs fan" because they were successful, and I really liked Mats Sundin and Curtis Joseph and somehow I ended up with a Leafs baseball cap as early as I can remember. They definitely were a contender in the late '90s, early '00s.

Do you even know how to read? Our game alone determines nothing. I am fully aware we can clinch the division, but that relies on factors that are outside of our game with the Leafs.

I'd like us to sign a goon like Stortini for just tonight. I bet Toronto goons it up.

They did have a couple of those years, where they were a good team...there was no cap though, and they just bought players at the trade deadline to help with their playoff run...

Reading this GDT and Toronto's is literally making my faith in humanity go down the *******. It's unreal the amount of imbeciles and flat-out shallow morons that those fanbases include.

I do understand people asking for an enforcer.
I hope MB will find a way to address this.

Would love to find a Laraque from his first years but there is nothing in the pipeline.
But the best answer would be to have a lethal PP.

If you cannot get that in your area then just Google habs tv and the second or third link 'habs online blogspot' or something.

Good Luck
