It's the playoffs and hosers want to know what the story is. So I assume we'll actually get news, unlike when you just have local guys waiting for a phone call or whatever they do I guess.

Neal came out for another shift after hurting his ankle and looked fine. Who knows, but at least it's a shred of hope it isn't a high ankle, because I severely doubt he could of skated if he had a high ankle sprain.

They are brutally painful.

neal got up and skated a bit after his injury, because the play was still going on nearby. seemed like he was still able to bear weight on injured leg... its not like he was immediately unable to put any weight on it (like crosbys high ankle sprain).

Yeah, sprains come in various flavors. I've sprained both my knee and my ankle. Both times I walked afterward (not for too long with the knee, though... mostly until it stopped being numb).

Neither time was there any competitive sport being played for weeks afterward.

Wow Jiggy, great eye. I had to go back and check. You're right, he did come back out.

I'm not saying it isn't a bad sprain or whatever, I just know his pain tolerance would be off the charts insane to go out the next shift and skate on a high ankle sprain.

You can barely put weight on your ankle, let alone skate with them.

We'll see what happens though.

I'm not really worried about Jokinen at all, and I'm not exactly worried about Neal either. We'll see what happens. Like Jiggy said, he came back out to try it out, probably still felt a little discomfort and the trainers and Bylsma told him to shut it down as a precaution.

Hopefully just a mild sprain and they kept him out / iced as a precaution, given the score.

This is an extremely measured, reasoned train of thought.

Hopefully it's just minor injuries with Jussi and Neal. Thank God Shero acquired a crap load of depth though.

Yea, just didn't realize he came back out. That's encouraging.

You might think that someone being drafted into a militia as a child soldier would have it a bit worse than Pens fans, but nah, this is pretty much the pits.

It happened immediately before the third goal.

Same shift that Dupuis scored to make it 3-0. He played one more shift after it was 4-0, then left.

Dupuis scored to make it 4-0. Letang scored to make it 3-0, on the PP that started to start the second. I don't think Neal came back after Letang scored. If he did, it was one shift, but I think Bylsma told him he was done when Dupuis made it 4-0.

He definitely played a shift after the fourth goal.

Thanks. Wasn't sure. My reply was because you got the order wrong on the third and fourth goal. It was pretty clear he was dinged pretty good. Hopefully, it was more precautionary than anything.

Mark Madden "The Super Genius"
A locker-room source tells me the injuries to Neal & Jokinen are "not bad."

via Facebook update from MM.
