Congrats Red Wings. I had my doubts at various points this year.

But I'm personally glad to see them make it.
Anything can happen in a series, and Anaheim's goaltending is suspect, IMO.

i don't expect to get out of Round 1.

But Datsyuk and Zetterberg can win a series. And if Franzen or Flip contribute at all, that helps too.

A reminder of why we're happy to leave to the West...last year of dealing with 10/10:30 starts.

Franzen, Flip have heat up tremendously. And for a consistent bunch of games. Datsyuk and Z have been terrific. Howard continues to amaze.

If that continues the Wings could do damage. I still don't think much of their chances to make it to the Finals, much less out of the second round. But they really pulled together down the stretch.

*Here's hoping Tatar in for Cleary....*

Howard is on FIRE! right now. This team is heating up just at the right time, Ducks seem to be cooling off.

They certainly did earn it down the stretch.

Seeing as I had them missing the playoffs this year, they've exceeded my expectations. I wasn't doom and gloom and the streak will probably end fairly soon, but I still have hope for the future due to management.

But they need to continue getting younger and cut out the Samuelsson-esque signings.

This is one of the most satisfying regular season endings that I can remember.

I'm happy with how our defense has developed. I think that has been key, it was (predictably) a mess to start the year. Now it's the offense that concerns me.

I think Dekeyser has been a huge stabilizing force. Between his addition and Kindl's progress, its been huge.

And as I'm typing this, Babcock says "If we don't get Dekeyser, we don't make the playoffs." One of those few times I agree with Babs about his individual player comments.

I have complete confidence that the wings will beat the ducks.

Wings in six.

Its shocking how doubtful I was that we'd get out of the 1st round, but I never considered being matched up with Anaheim. I think they're this year's over-acheivers. The travel sucks, but I have no doubt that we could take out Anaheim if we keep things up.

Time to ride this team to see how far they can go! If we make it to a game 7 2nd round I'll be proud.

Considering most of us had very low expectations, this defense has exceeded them tremendously.

However, this team has struggled badly to score and that will have to be addressed.

Asides from his stupid bone-head penalties, Smith has been looking better defensively.

15 goals in the last 4 games. Isn't too shabby. I think they found their spark to get going on offense.

I think that's ********* and insult to the guys who actually made it happen.

Babcock is a ******.

The best thing I can say about DD thus far is that he's much better than Lashoff and finally got the loser out of the lineup

I'm happy they made it. Everyone's playing good and following the leadership of Z and Pavel who both had an awesome mode game against Dallas.

Maybe it's just me, but I think the series against the Ducks will be fun to watch. They may not get out of round one, but I think they will have a hell of a battle reguardless of what happens.

If only Kenny didn't sign these old and useless players and had the young guys play from the start. In my opinion, we'd be higher up in the standings.

Nonetheless, Go Wings!

DD is a far superior player to Lashoff. I think he has played better than White and CC as well. Is he the reason we're in? I dunno, but he certainly made the team better than what it was.

(Which is why I laugh at people who cry injury. CC, Mursak, Sammy. Guys that got healthy, still aren't playing because they aren't good enough. Who cares that they were injured, our team is better for it)

It might be a little exaggeration but I don't think it's complete ********. It literally came down to a single game. 2 points. It's not that farfetched to suggest that adding a player helped get 2 points that we otherwise might not have.

Would rather finish strong than start strong, that's for sure. No matter how you spin it this ended up being a pretty successful season for the Wings. Broke in a lot of rookies, transitioned to a team post having Lidstrom and we're going into the playoffs hot.

I'm still not thrilled with Holland's decisions, but let's see what happens. It's too bad Babcock will have to win 70 games in Detroit to get any Jack Adams recognition. It took Scotty Bowman to break the all times win record to win anything here. Crappy teams overachieving generally get that award.
