That's why I said part-time. Thornton was still a Shark.

Marleau on radio intermission interview, with the usual comments. On the Cup: "Hopefully we get to hoist it at the end of this playoffs."

Maybe he meant "heist it"? Marleau secretly plotting the most diabolical crime in sports history...

Nah. I was looking at plucking a starting image off google image search when the thought that people might think it'd be a cheat/tease occurred to me.

I have the thread laid out already, I just sent the avatars off for quality control.

They're getting ready to award the cup and they open the case only to find it missing. The camera pans to the rafters where you see Marleau and Thornton both wearing fake curly mustaches and top hats laughing while holding the cup before running away to Mexico.

Marleau on radio intermission interview:

- Gotta forgot about each playoff game afterward and play your best the next game.
- The Stanley Cup is what you play for ever since childhood.
- Getting the wins and playing a certain way has given the team confidence, and now they have to bring it every game and hopefully get the right bounces and timely goals. And "hopefully the rest is history after that."

By the way, his answer to Jamie's first question did not come through on the broadcast side. So he was basically missing in action again.

There's none of this wishy-washy "I'm a fan of team X, but I'm also a fan of team Y" crap. Team bigamy is among the gravest of sports fan sins

They proceed to take a dozen selfies and put them on the internet so next time someone pulls the "I looked up such and such player Stanley Cup and no pictures turned up" Sharks fans will have amo.

They all have to have the instagram filter though with captions like "chillin with my homie, some coronas and the cup #championz #chillaxin #boozebros"

Two days off this season is like a week's vacation. They'll make good use of it regardless of the outcome of this game. lol

I bet Murray is secretly in on the plot. Possibly Handzus too, since that covers a PIT-CHI finals. Such a masterful job of getting themselves traded to contenders!

You can root for a player you like on another team, but the success/failure of the team itself should be immaterial.

Yes, I realize that makes it kind of a grey area when you say you want a player you like on another team to win a cup, but nobody said being a fan is easy.

Seems like someone never got their copy of the sports fan's official rule book.

Okay, then let me clarify. I wasn't going to become a die-hard Kings fan. I was just going to root for them to win the Cup w/ Marleau if the Sharks couldn't. Plus, I love Kopitar (as was so astutely pointed out earlier in the thread ), so it wouldn't have been as painful as if, say, he signed with the Ducks (puking in my mouth).
