Yeah right. It is easy to make an atmosphere at begining of game or if your team is winning. In Zagreb is totaly diferent story. When Medveščak was in 6 games losing streak the house was packed and when they were losing 5:0 in 3rd it was a MAD HOUSE. That my friend is inpossible in NHL.
That was in 2009. I was there. Last season was a different story. Remember Graz and Teddy Bear toss? It felt like a funeral. Despite the best possible charity event in hockey.

It's not a different story, or at least it wasn't this season. So don't delude yourselves, its fun in Zagreb, great place to live etc. but nothing special.

Bern, SEL, and quite a few other clubs have much much more passionate fans, choreographies etc. check teh fuc*ing video dude.

What is "definition" of passionate fan(s) ? For me, to be passionate fan, you don't need to sing and chant for 60 minutes. Passionate fans are those who won't turn their backs when club loses few games in a row.

But I do agree that atmosphere on games, compared to first season, wanished...

I do agree. And the most passionate fans are those who save their club financially and do it from heartbeat these days.

We all know what happened last season and why did the fans turned their back to the team for the first time in 4 years(coach Raymond dicisions). This year we start all over again in new league so things are going to be like in 2009 or like in Gortan times in the 80's. Love between Zagreb and Medveščak is a special one.

It's a new central europe derby triangle. Praha,Bratislava,Zagreb

That's a fun, no doubt about it and new space for KHL rivality.

Plans are already being made for the weekend games in march - away matches for Zagreb in Prague and Bratislava.

I'm sad the league wasn't divided into two conf. with no touch in between (like NHL this season) and playing 4x each in your own conf. that would be best thing for this Derby Triangle.

And plans are being made to travel and watch away games with Jokerit

Regulation of KHL says 5% from the capacity of arena must be reserved for away fans. That makes 500 places at our stadium in Bratislava. However, I told to my Zagreb's friend and he said he only expected about 300 of their fans here (and in Prague as well). But I think there's gonna be ca. 700 Medvescak supporters in Bratislava and Prague. Looking forward guys.

You mean those 700? It is just my humble estimate, that is all mate don't worry. And I just assume it because Medvescak got great fans and I thought there would be big interest about these two games.

Avg last season was 4500, biggest away game was Ljubljana which is 2 hours away and that was an open ice game - 3 buses.

700 is a big number thats all. 15 buses?

You are absolutely right but KHL is a different story isn't it? OK, 700 is maybe undue but let's still talk about at least 400 or so.

i think he is just for sitting on the bench, because we need 5 NT eligable players and 2 juniors. medvescak did this in EBEL too. one goalie was on the goal. filipec on the bench. and the backup goalie not on the gamesheet.

but if the first goalie get injured at the game we have a problem.

You are not that far from the truth...if he ever steps on the ice even for a second we are screwd.

But Mate Tomljenovic is the same year of birthday, is NT eligible too and is much much better.

Yes, but Mate has solid (not KHL however, but still decent) potential and he needs playing time more than anything. One more season of bench at this stage of his career would be very bad for him.

Olimpija as a farm club of Medvescak, Bolcano as a farm of Milano, then Cracovia will join the league as a farm of Olivia => EBEL becomes the VHL division

I was at the Leafs/Kings '93 game 7 semi-final, in Carolina in '02 for the Leafs/Canes semi-final game 5, in Philly in '03 game 1. Lived near Toronto, Pittsburgh, and Philly, and now in Zagreb.

Trust me...the atmosphere at games in Dom Sportova is better than anything I experienced there. Zagreb actually is pretty special.
