Quick question. I thought the KHL had an agreement in place league wide which only allowed a certain amount of foreign players to be signed? If this is true, how is it that Medvescak can sign all these NA players?

there is no limit for non-russian team
the only limit is to have 5 players who can play for national team

Im starting think that Medvescak have too much good wingers, but what about centers? There is no place for guys like Walker or Perkovich, if Jessiman will play 4th line.

when Willsie leave in october Thomas can play center instead of right wing.

i think medsvesak only need 2 good defenders to complete the roster. Fistric(dream), Miskovic or/and kanadian/american D-men

Edit: they have to bring back Zanoski or resign Kostovic to complete 4th offensive line.

Dont worry about Willsie´s contract with Medvescak (yes, I have info from the club)
he has signed tryout contract which is due to expire on october 7th, so an out clause in his khl contract is not the issue. the issue is whether he has an out clause in his sm-liiga contract which would allow him to sign with medveščak without any transfer fee.

"MEDVEŠČAK ANNOUNCES ITS 2013/2014 PRESEASON

KHL Medveščak Zagreb has begun filling up its roster for its rookie KHL season, and has just finalized its preseason plan. The team will come together in Zagreb at the end of July, while the preparations for 2013/2014 season will start in early August.

The Bears will practice in Zagreb in the first few days of the preseason, and from August 5-17th they will go to training camp in Maribor. In that same period, Maribor’s Ice Hall Tabor will also host KHL clubs HC Vityaz and Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod.

"We considered all of the different options that were available to us as possible preseason training camps on ice, and decided on Maribor for several important reasons: recommendations from KHL clubs, the proximity to Zagreb, the level of quality offered for sports and accommodation, the participation of other hockey teams with which we plan to play prep games. All that’s left now is to work out a schedule with the other teams taking part in the camp, game schedules, and whether the clubs will agree to play the games in front of fans. We will also play one prep game with Ljubljana’s Telemach Olimpija in Maribor!", announced Markoantonio Belinić, Medveščak’s director of hockey operations, about the preseason schedule.

After practices in Maribor, the Bears will return to Zagreb for preparations, and just about ten days later will hit the road toward Switzerland where on the 23rd and 24th they will take part in the international tournament ”Biasca Turnir”. At the Biasca tournament, the Bears will test their strength against Kazakhstan’s Sary-Arka Karaganda team, which competes in the VHL, and depending on their placement after the first game, they will play against Switzerland’s premier leaguers Ambri-Piotta or the KHL’s Metallurg Novokuznetsk.

The Bears will have their final prep game on August 30th in Graz against the Graz 99ers, a team that they’ve been facing off against in the Erste Bank Ice Hockey League for the past four seasons.

The Bears are expected to play their first KHL game of the 2013/2014 season in Dom Sportova on September 6th. Details about the game including scheduling, opponents, and cost of tickets will be announced shortly once all details are finalized.

SCHEDULE FOR PREPARATORY GAMES (preliminary dates!)

Notice: game times, locations, and information about whether training camp prep games in Maribor will be open to the public will be announced in July!

Since he doesn't have a KHL clause, TPS could charge as much as they want. There is no issue however since Fox said there's an agreement between the parties they'd try to sign him next year, not before that.

Thx guys, I read this schedulle and forgot my bad. Training camps starts tommorow oficially, therefore I asked. You know, clubs can not start off ice camp earlier, then medical tests and of course clubs can not play 1st pre-game earlier than 7 (??) days after off-ice camp starts.

I think, more possible is that, Thomas will play as center. Something like this

Murley - Ryan - Cheechoo
Willsie - Vesce/Thomas - Glumac
Linglet - Vesce/Thomas - Jessiman
Kane - Bjorkstrand/Koren - Perkovich/Walker

Kyle Klubertanz was one of the best defensemen in SM-liiga last season. I look forward to see how he does in the KHL.

Klubertanz is a good signing for Medvescak.

But... former Rocket Richard Trophy winner signs with a croatian club, and that isn't even really even noticed? What has happened to this world?

World just got pretty smart and understands he is nothing more than pretty average AHL player now
