The Blues need to avoid trying the "defensive shell". They need to play with offensive energy, keep the puck in The Hawks' zone, and get a lot of chances. They need to score again, to keep a comfortable lead, and not let The Hawks into the game.
Good thing, too. They'll need as much offensive creativity as possible against the stingy, smothering playoff defences. Let's hope they play San ose's more porous defence first, so they can get used to scoring in the playoffs.
Personally, I think that Cracknell, Porter, and Reaves have all earned NHL contracts as 4th liners. If our skilled guys on the top three lines can't make it there, move them. These guys have that special energy that translates to a good 4th line player. Sure Schwartz and some of the other top 9 forwards can play down on the 4th line, but they are better on other lines. These guys bring that 4th line energy and grit that more skilled players lack.
I agree....really think that line brings something special.
Havent checked. Are the Kings on the road or is it the Sharks?
You're an LA fan, right?
No....I don't mind Kopitar and respect what Quick did last year but largely dislike the team. I think DB has been overdue for a long term suspension.....diver and cheapshot artist combined....nice combo.
for first game against Kings/Sharks
I really like Cracknell-Porter-Reaves together and think its super important to have a line like that in the PO's just like the Kings last year. Oshie coming back will throw a wrench in that but seriously, Cracknell has not played good enough to kick anyone else out
