They are the media-hype darling of the 2013 season. They are good, just not nearly as good as the media is making them out to be. There's one or two of these teams every season. This year it's the Seahawks.

Anyone ever been down to Burbounnais for training camp? Is it worth it? What is there to do?

They did, but it doesn't mean you can't get hurt or dinged up. Sounds like its his hip, and they are just being careful. Hopefully just a small pointer.

Cooper is idiot and likely will be cut IMO from this firestorm

With that said Kerry Collins has proven a guy can fight his way back after incident involving racial slur (Though Collins actually had great talent ,, But his drinking was destroying his career)

Don't know what you guys are reading, they had a good year last year. Strong D and great performance by Russell. They will likely make the playoffs again but I don't see anyone picking them to go all the way.

if he was going to get cut it would have happened already IMO. That said, I kinda expect he'll be a marked player for opposing teams.

Assuming Russell Wilson continues to progress and doesn't fizzle out, I think they are a playoff team. Though, they are so much better at home than on the road.

Also, just to clarify, i don't think the hawks are really overrated, i was just saying that bubba's post makes sense whether you agree with him or not.

Some of Coopers teammates are upset (McCoy for example)

I don't see this going away anytime soon and think ultimately he will be cut

I still think its pretty weird that a guy who has to have spent a ton of time with black teammates and has sweat and bled with them could still harbor that type of feeling. Granted, we really don't know the circumstances, and its possible he wasn't referring to black people, but using the n word as a stock, demeaning term, but regardless it's inexcusable. Generally, I chalk up racism to ignorance, but I may have to re-examine that position.

The Alcohol probably loosened up his tongue a bit

If he wasn't drinking he likely doesn't end up in this situation IMO as he wouldn't have been stupid enough to use slur

The term overrated doesn't make sense without any context. In who's eyes?!?! I don't see one prediction that has them overrated based on their division and the rest of the NFC.

Well, I see most people predicting them to be a playoff team, and a tough out at that. So if Bubba doesn't think they will make the playoffs(which IMO, really isn't that crazy of a feeling), then yea, overrated fits.

BOURBONNAIS, Ill. -- The Chicago Bears have signed tight end Leonard Pope to a one-year contract. The 6-foot-8 Pope has 105 receptions for 982 yards and 11 touchdowns over seven seasons with the Arizona Cardinals (2006-08), Kansas City Chiefs (2009-11) and Pittsburgh Steelers (2012). He appeared in 16 games last season and had three receptions for nine yards and two touchdowns. The Bears announced the move on Saturday. They also waived tight end Brody Eldridge.

No it doesn't. They made the playoffs last year, the NFC has not dramatically improved around them. IMO, it got worse. Still have yet to see one article predicting the Hawks to be the studs of the NFC. They're not even the most liked team in their division by the analysts.

My issue has more to do with the use of the word overrated. Without any context as to who is categorizing this team it makes no sense.

Sure there is some Pete Carroll hype and Russell had a great rookie year.

lol you're barking up the wrong tree here. I think the seahawks have a good shot to be better than last year. BUT, again, from bubba's perspective I can see what he means:
~wilson could have been a fluke
~they weren't good on the road

And again, I don't know what places you frequent, but I've seen a decent amount of seahawks hype, getting so wrapped up in the word overrated seems strange to me.

Interesting NFC North news:

-Bryan Bulaga is out for the season (torn ACL).

-Green Bay is working out Vince Young and an unknown receiver.
