Kyle Long is a monster, a little dim but it's a physical position, I'd rather have the guy with the ideal body and just teach him as best we can.

I don't see how you can say he's dim. Where exactly is that coming from?

Bostic's been great but don't sleep on D.J. Williams, who is a pretty high-quality MLB. Either way the Bears look to be in good hands.

You know what, that was out of bounds on my part, I don't know him. Made a gereralization on stuff I read and listening to him, but that's not fair. Nevertheless, I believe he will become a great O-lineman.

Kinda hard to believe Howie Long's son could have a "zero" football IQ and would admit that, but I believe he will learn from the Bears coaches over time and ultimately, the physical aspect of the position is what it is really all about.

The irony of this post is not lost on me, nor the rest of the board I would hope.

Well then that shows the Bears are run by idiots

Britton was so bad at RT the Jaguars moved him to guard and he eventually lost that starting gig (Getting benched for a practice squad rookie)

New Bears rookie RG Kyle Long has the highest Pro Football Focus grade of all NFL offensive linemen at this point in the preseason.
Long played well in Chicago's exhibition opener and legitimately dominated in Thursday night's preseason game against San Diego, earning a +5.7 grade from PFF, which is an outstanding mark in only 33 snaps worth of action. Rookie RT Jordan Mills also held his own versus the Chargers, possibly giving the Bears some hope on their offensive line. It's been a rag-tag/mash unit for years.

The Chicago Bears will sign quarterback Jordan Palmer, pending a physical, according to a league source.

The Bears have a need for a third quarterback after Matt Blanchard fractured a knuckle on his nonthrowing hand during a 33-28 victory over the San Diego Chargers on Thursday.

Palmer, the brother of Arizona Cardinals quarterback Carson Palmer, worked out for the Bears along with JaMarcus Russell and Trent Edwards in June. A sixth-round draft choice of the Washington Redskins in 2007, Palmer played three games with the Cincinnati Bengals in 2008 and one in 2010. He spent last season with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

My bold prediction: Kyle Long will be wearing the other "C" on his jersey for the offense after Roberto Garza leaves the team. Everything I've seen and heard from him oozes leadership. I think he's for real. I hope I'm right.

Let's not get carried away. Bostic had a pretty good first game, and a nice hit in the second game, but he made several pretty big mistakes in that second game as well. He has a lot of learning to do. Even once he gets enough experience in this league, he will never be the monster in coverage that Urlacher was.

I am optimistic about what Bostic is showing so far, but I still think he needs a season to really get acclimated to the NFL. I find myself hoping DJ Williams comes back quick from that calf injury, and is ready to start Week 1. I think Bostic needs some time on the vine still...

Really?

So Bostic is already in his first 2 pre-season games, in which he got burned quite a few times better then Urlacher will ever be.

The fickleness of some of the fans once a player leaves is pathetic.

Urlacher was the Bears for several years but lets piss on him.

Urlacher was/is an all time bears great. The last few years where he kinda acted like a tool shouldn't sully that. I'm greatful for what he did, but not upset that he's gone.

While he's certainly been double ******* the kool aid lately, all he said about Bostic is that he's better than the shell of a player Urlacher was last year.

Bostic got burned badly a few times on Thursday. We should be careful about ovepraising him over a highlight reel hit or two.

Illini already posted that. But yeah - he's off to a great start.
