wonder why they cut S Tom Zbikowski and C Lonergan... thought Zibby would make the team and Lonergan could end up as Garza replacement in a year.

Just had my first draft yesterday; 12 team snake and I had 4th pick.

First six rounds:

Calvin Johnson
Ridley
D. Thomas (Broncos)
Reggie Bush
RGIII
James Jones

Have my first draft tonight and haven't done any research or anything. My teams suck when I do, so figured I'll just go in blind. Can't be any worse than if I were to waste hours trying to prepare like I usually do. I think I pick 5th or 6th, in a QB heavy league.

Bold taking Megatron with the 4th overall. That being said, that isn't a bad lineup.

My main league is Thursday, but it's an auction draft (my first). Totally different way to prepare for it. I'm used to being more structured in my approach with snake drafts because you can sort of figure out who you can get. With an auction its wide open, and you don't know who the other guys are going to spend on. This should be interesting.

My guess is they simply weren't good enough. Zbikowski was buried pretty low on the depth chart behind younger guys. Lonergan was in the same situation. They may only keep 8 linemen. If they do, your backup C is probably Slauson. Not ideal, but Emery and company keep preaching versatility, so that may go that route.

Had my 1st yesterday, 10 teamer.

RGIII
Spiller
Ridley
D. Thomas
Bowe
Bennett
L. Miller
Vereen
Steve Smith
Antonio Brown
Andre Brown
Bernard
Dalton
Giants
Nugent

Usually don't take a 2nd QB, but when RGIII fell pretty far to me, figured Dalton in the 13th or whatever was worth it given the RB and WR depth I had already built at that point.

Zibkowski isn't very good in coverage and showed nothing on ST to make him worth keeping

Lonergan was undrafted FA... They must not have felt he showed much and he can always be picked up for practice squad later on

Apparently Onobun is making it through this round of cuts because he's been good all through camp, and his play during the games has been "uncharacteristically inconsistent" according to Trestman.

Definitely had this argument last year, haha.

I've never been a PPR fan.

non ppr is a joke. Puts so much emphasis on rb's who just run the ball. In my perfect world, we'd have 6pts for td passes and ppr.

edit: My biggest problem with non ppr is that rb's who rush for 1200+ yards with 10+ tds generally get at least as many points as rb's who rush for 1000 with 60 receptions and 14 total tds. Just doesn't make sense to me, who REALLY impacted play more?

With PPR, a wr that catches 4 passes for 10 yards gets as many points as a running back who rushes for 50 yards

I get your point, but the numbers you used are flat out wrong. Still disagree as well.

I thought they were high on Lonergan. Just wonder why he was cut now and not a few days later. Think they'll keep him on PS

The Bears dbacks had zero sacks last year. Although the 2013 D is similar to 2012, I'm looking forward to a more aggressive attack featuring more blitzing resulting in more sacks. Congrats on your promotion from freelancer to full time, Jen.

Ridiculous example. Of course the guy with 14 TDs was more effective but you left out the fact that he got points for all of his receiving yards and therefore got more points anyways. Why should you get a point for a catch when you're gonna get your points for the yardage as it is. That would be like giving a QB points for each completion when he already is getting points for yards. Which QB is more effective? A guy with 20 completions for 200 yards or a guy with 500 yards for 16 completions?

People think the biggest thing ppr does is make wr's more valuable than rb's. Its just not true. Directly comparing player vs. player across positions makes no sense since it doesn't account for the opportunity cost of drafting a good wr/rb/te vs a different player/position. Relatively speaking, the biggest thing PPR does is make pass catching/dual threat rb's more valuable. Something I'm massively in favor of.

Why should 10 yards receiving for a running back be worth at least twice as much as 10 yards running?

Last year was my first year doing ppr. Prefer it.

Had my draft on Saturday. 7th pick.

Ray Rice
Aaron Rodgers - 18th overall!
Darren Sproles
Darren McFadden
Marques Colston
TY Hilton
Daryl Richardson
Steve Smith
Brandon Pettigrew
Ronnie Hilleman
Bernard Pierce
Brandon LaFell
Robert Turbin
Denarius Moore
Giants
Janikowski
Carson Palmer

Pretty happy. 12 team league, ppr. Rodgers and Rice alone should keep me in most games.
