I think there's already another thread about this.

I only have one team i'd like to avoid but really if this team plays the way it's capable, i don't think there'll be any issues in round 1.

Toronto.

Don't want to play either NY team.

The Rangers have our number and I feel like Nabakov is going to go on a hot streak.

I like our chances against Ottawa. We've played well against them and I'd love to see that rivalry renewed a little

Me too. Also Islanders have speed, we struggle against speedy teams.

Of the 4 teams we have a good chance of playing (Islanders, Rangers, Leafs, Senators), I think we'd have the easiest time against the Islanders (followed closely by the Leafs) and the hardest time against the Rangers. In terms of entertainment, I would most like to see them play the Sens. I just think that would be the best series.

Ultimately, I'm hoping we play the Sens. It would be the most entertaining and we seem to have their number as well. Only real downside is that they seem to injure a lot of our players.

Rangers would be the absolute worst. They are the best team out of the bunch, they have our number, and our games against them are always boring. I had an awful feeling about playing the Capitals last year, and have the same feeling about playing the Rangers.

I never wish to play anyone. Many people wanted to play Washington last year, many people wanted to play Carolina a few years back.

For me its whoever we play, we play.

Toronto would be the best match up for Boston but I want that two seed and to win the division so I voted Ottawa. None of the six listed outside of Washington (who I think it's highly unlikely doesn't win the division, and the Bruins aren't dropping to sixth) really strike any amount of fear into me that the Bruins would be in that tough to beat them. Bruins play their game and they beat them all. I don't really wish for match ups personally.

Honestly don't want to see Toronto. Lots of talent. I would, however, like to see Seguin go off on the Leafs. Other than that, I am up for any opponent and I know Claude and Tuuk Nuuk'em will be ready too.

I remember that most wanted to play Ottawa. But they lost their last 3 games to fall out of 7th to 8th.

As for this year, I just don't care who will be our 1st round opponent as we should beat any of these possible matchups.

Good point. Not afraid of any team. You want the Cup, you have to play the best regardless. Shouldn't have to rely on easy route.

Yeah I don't remember anyone wanting Washington. Most wanted Ottawa and it looked like that's who it would be until Ottawa tanked their last couple of games.

Who said that people are voting/wanting the easiest route? Perhaps they think some match ups will be more entertaining/interesting than others. For instance our games against the Rangers always seem to be low scoring and boring.

Valid point, but I get the feeling most people aren't thinking like that. I, for one, would rather see a boring series ending with us moving on than an exciting series sending us home. But, again, thats just me.

1) I'm not gonna go back in the "HF Archives" but I'm speaking more when the Washington matchup was certain as Ottawa tanked. Even before, I do remember their being posters wanting to play Washington cause of their Rookie goalies. None of us can say if the B's would have won that matchup either. All I do know is some wanted the Washington matchup, many were overconfident with the matchup, and Boston lost.

Brick said it perfectly in the cup DVD, when they won cup, no better route then beating Montreal, then vindication against Philly. So I guess if I'm giving my opinion on the subject beyond "we play who we play", if we're to win the cup or go far, I hope the roads go through Montreal and Pittsburgh

2) I'm not arguing the point of the poll is stupid or anything, not at all I think it's fine. Of course there are story lines, to different series. For sure a Boston NY series would be a rough N tough series, IMO one that would go 7 games.

My point WAS, to answer the OP question, who do you want to play? I never claim to want to play anyone, who we play is who we play.

What has made this team so fun to watch over the past 5 or so years is they really haven't had a single boring series. Many have gone 7 games, most have had overtime thrillers, with many having story lines to them (Bruins as the 8 in the montreal series(game 3, game 6), Carolina w/ the Walker sucker punch, vindication against the flyers, etc etc). I guess that's what I'm hoping for.

Yeah and aside from 2011 all of them have ended with a Game 7 loss.

All exciting series, none the less, that ended awfully for us . . .

I went with Toronto because I think it would be the most fun series to watch.

From a competitive standpoint, Ottawa has to be the choice because they're fading and vulnerable.

Toronto...Original 6 vibe, we should be able to crank up our emotion to roll over that group. If we mail it in, any of them will dispatch us.

I don't really care tbh. I do however think that all those rooting for the B's to win the division need to be careful what they wish for. A potential B's/Rangers 1st round matchup is not something I would look forward to.

Sooo actually I guess I do care.
