Poll: 215 minutes of play.. 2 goals. Whose fault is it?

So the Penguins played exactly 215 minutes and 19 seconds of hockey so far during this lopsided ECF. They were able to produce a whopping 2 goals during that timespan.

110 total shots on net so far. 2 goals.

A star-studded roster with a wide range of offensive talent. 2 goals.

So the question for you guys is... who is at fault for this power outage at the worst possible time?

Star players. We've had our chances and just couldn't capitalize.

I'm not sure how coaching is supposed to prevent Malkin, Crosby, Neal, and Letang from notching a single point through 3 games. I'd expect better production than that if I were the Pens coach, a prime Hasek were in net for the Bruins, and a late '70s Scotty Bowman was behind their bench.

It's a mix of players, stars, and coaching IMO.

I think it's a combination but I voted Bylsma.
He refused to return to a PP combination that was scoring at about 35%.
He refused to change up Kuny-Sid-Duper when even the most casual fan could realize it wasn't working.
The Jarome Iginla experiments.

Lots of posts. Lots of outstanding saves by Rask (along with Boston's seemingly automatic defense). Oh yeah... and the Penguins simply not burying their (many) chances.

The powerplay suddenly going silent (this team leaned on that a lot -- all year, post season very much included) has really killed them, too. That's where I have to wonder why they changed what was working and went with a new look. Not that it really matters, now.

99% of the blame has to go to Bylsma.

I'd say a combo of our stars not performing and Boston playing really well.

As some said, finishing is on the players. The mental part is on both the players and coaching. The Coach has to have these guys ready. He didn't, or he didn't rein in their emotions.

Not being prepared for what I'm calling the bullyfest is also on the coach to rein in. Worry about hitting a little less and try scoring more/have better focus on shots.

You can't control the rest and you just have to bend over and take it from the boards view.

Act as NJ did against the Flyers, but they didn't learn this lesson because, they are doing it again, but this time there's a little better defense and a much better goalie.

My blame is split 45% Star players. 40% Bylsma's constant ****ing line jumbling. 5% Rask.

I think it's a combination of a few things.

Our stars aren't finishing, Rask is playing amazing, and our coach can't adjust.

Db because he hasn't put the best lineup out there, nor did he get favorable matchups at home to give them better chances to score. He also ****ed with the PP.

Then you have ****** luck. Something like 12 posts in 3 games.

Then you have Rask/Not finishing

Not sure if serious but this team misses Staal a lot.

Pens used to have 3 lines that could score and caused teams huge problems. Now the Pens have 2 lines that can score and it makes the opponent's life much easier.

Igilna.

He brought the "Hossa curse" down on this team whenever he left Boston at the alter, claiming he had a better chance with us.

How did Boston score some of their goals. Throwing the puck towards the net with traffic In front

That's a lost concept with this team. They want every goal to be a highlight reel goal. And sadly it starts with Sid. He's the biggest culprit of this IMO

that would also mean they would have to win a puck battle around the net.

Bylsma. Maybe if he could make some adjustments to what Boston is doing, and if he'd stop ****ing around with dumb line combinations, the Pens might actually be able to generate some offense.

Anyone who still refuses to lay any blame at Bylsma, explain to me why this Pens team is so disorganized compared to any of the other "contenders". Of the four teams remaining, the Pens are the only one that often looks like it has no real structure or systems in place. Just five guys skating around, hoping to run and gun to victory.

The kind of poll where there is obviously no one answer, and where all the answers are intertwined.

Bylsma is obviously not solely responsible for our stars and players in general not converting on great opportunities, us having no puck luck, and Rask playing great. But I still think him easily the biggest single negative factor for us in the series.

Who's fault is it that Sid and the boys can't score for crap in this series?

Tuuka Rask being a Tightwad.......That is all

Bylsma made mistakes, however I can't understand how he is to blame that only Kun and Duper have a single point of your top 6 players. If just half of the shots and missed open nets go in, this is still a series. Plus Rask plays really, really good and the Bruins play good D. Bylsma can be blamed for the pp, how Kunitz is on it and not Iggy, I don't know (especially if it doesn't work), but other than that, this is on our players and the Bruins.

Averaging over 4 goals over 2 series wins.
Sid looking terribad and Malkin doing everything but score.

The answer is, it's the Bruins fault.

Could a different coach with different systems make the difference?
My answer to that is maybe.
