Wow, both Bergeron and Toews get injured in this Game 5. And Bergeron is sent to the hospital for observation - at first glance it looks like a serious back injury. *Huge* loss for the Bruins. Doubtful they can pull off winning the Grail again without him.

EDIT: Nothing official yet, but Bergy looks like he's out with a spleen injury. Oy gevalt. Crushing turn of events for him and the Bs if true.

Hawks score 2 in the final 1:20 to win the Grail. Epic, hard-fought series between them and the Bruins.

Obviously bummed at the result, but on the bright side, at least the off-season can finally begin!

Keep an eye on the Bruins next year. Obviously it was game 6, so it's not like the Cup literally slipped out if their hands, but losses like this stay with a team.

This kind of thing can F with a player's psyche.

Not too worried about the Bruins suddenly going fragile - after all, they did have that epic collapse to the Flyers in 2010 only to win the Cup the very next year. Julien is a very underrated coach who's similar to Tippett - he can keep his team hungry and focused. Bergy and Chara are also excellent leaders. They'll be back in Cup contention, although I think their defense needs a little more speed.

Amazing ending.

Blackhawks were the best team all year. And that 1 year $2m deal for Roszival turned out pretty freaking good. If you aren't a Chicago fan or maybe a Yotes fan watching to see how our former player did, you probably didn't even notice him. But he was a workhorse on the blue line and quietly seemed to be on the ice for an awful lot of big moments this playoffs.

I first thought Rozi put in the triple OT winner but he got the second assist after 2 deflections of his shot. Good to see him lift the cup.

This just solidifies his spot as my favorite non-Yotes player even more. What a warrior.

I missed the end. Had a game to play of my own. Have now missed 6 live cup presentations in a row, but at least 2013's reason will be remembered as not being a stupid one, even though we got outshot 58-12 and lost 9-0.

What a series and what a year. Sad and drained that it's over. Would not object to going to sleep and not waking up again until October.

Only wound up watching two games of the finals, glad it's over.

I'm sure they were great but after getting so close last year I found it hard to care about or even enjoy watching any of the playoffs this year.

Plus now we can focus on my favorite day of the year, the draft

Wanted the Bruins to win but... if you're going to **** the bed like that, you don't deserve it.

Yeah, I wanted game 7 and liked the Bruins overall, but that was pretty damn exciting. This is what a final series should be like. It had everything, and two very evenly matched teams.

The Stanley Cup Final of 2013 was great but the NBA Finals of 2013 was much better in part because that series went to a thrilling Game 7 though that game at the end wasn't as thrilling as the last minutes of Game 6.

Happy to see Rozi and Carcillo win a cup though.

Well, Rozi anyway. Carcillo's 25 minutes were critical in the Hawks cup run

Carcillo is one of a very few ex-Coyotes I really don't care for. "Shut up and play, jerk." He's your beer league teammate who won't stay out of the friggin' box - good enough player, but finally you cut him, and no one misses him when he's gone

Why couldn't we have just loaned the Bruins Boedker for a week?

I would like the Bruins to loan us Bergeron for the next five years.

Carcillo was actually traded because GMDM thought his knee would be an issue in the future and that appears to be the case today. It's the same knee that Roenick played a role in injuring in the game vs San Jose. Carcillo has his moments where he is a ass but I would rather have him over BizWussy 2.0 anyday.

Anyways, J. Towes wins another cup and along with that brings both good and bad news.

The bad news is the cup is going back to Winnipeg again.

The good news is the Winnipeg Jets still haven't won a cup.
