Only way we draft Nikki is if we use him with our own pick, or if we move up in the draft (maybe available at 12)

Im starting to like Rychel more and more, the flames need some tough top 6 players and by what i've read about him he could be great, does anybody know if he could play right wing?

Edit: Nevermind was thinking of a different player.
He would be a nice get with our late firsts.

ISS Top 30
#20 Kerby Rychel @Krychs
Aggressive 2-way game, finding his groove. Great shot, excels playing physical & great touch around net.

Rychel is in that Andrew Ladd mold. Every team would love to have a Ladd on their team

If we want to grab a winger he seems like the perfect match. Too bad he's a left player. Still would love to have him late first.

With STL out their pick will be around 20th, my mouth is literally watering at the thought of either Erne or Gauthier. I also think we pick JT Compher with Pitts pick if he is still there seems to have Feaster and co written all over him.

I think Josh Morrissey is ours if he is there at 20. Calgary has been talking with him alot, and we all know how bad we need puck moving defencemen in our system.

We need everything

I wouldn't be mad with Morrissey but imo Erne fills a larger need and Gauthier is the kind of player you want on your team if you want to win.

Compher, McCoshen, and Santini have Feaster/Weisbrod written all over them. I suspect one of them being taken with our Pittsburgh pick.

1. Monahan
2. Morrissey
3. Compher/McCoshen

That would be an amazing draft!

I wouldn't mind selecting Ryan Kujawinski with our Pittsburgh pick. He has a big frame and is an offensive type of player. If we are able to grab Monahan, this would be the perfect type of pick.

Quote:
Lack of size isn't an issue for Ryan Kujawinski of the Kingston Frontenacs. Built tall and thick, the imposing OHL centerman is a pick-up truck competing in a parking lot full of sedans. And the Northern Ontario native is more than just a big body.

Listed at 6-foot-2 and 205 pounds (he appears even bigger in person, to be honest), Kujawinski is also lauded for his strong skating, vicious shot, adeptness in the faceoff circle and positive attitude. He collected 17 goals and 31 assists in 66 games through the 2012-13 regular season. Projected as a third or fourth-round pick this June, the not-yet-18-year-old is attracting plenty of attention from the NHL scouting community. The Vancouver Canucks are rumored to be one of several teams with a particular interest in the Frontenacs' top center. (Some Canucks' fans would argue they could use such a player right now.) But Kujawinski is still considered "raw" by many, including his own assistant coach/general manager.

"The biggest thing is -- and he's not alone in this category -- consistency," Darren Keily conceded, following a regular-season 5-2 loss to the Oshawa Generals. "He's going to have to bring 'it' each and every shift ... He's going up against [Generals forward Boone] Jenner, seasoned guys that are two years older, and world junior guys. That's something Ryan really has to do, is find a consistency shift after shift after shift. And that's hard to do when you're up against older guys."

Watching Kujawinski compete in person, it's clear he doesn't have the same heightened sense of anticipation as, say, projected first-round pick F Sean Monahan (Ottawa 67's). But, as the Frontenacs' assistant GM/coach suggests, that intuition will further develop with experience.

"He's got some growing pains to get through," said Keily, adding he would like Kujawinski to play a bit more physical on a regular basis. "But when he gets to be 19 like the Jenners and guys like that, he's going to be a dominant force."

ESPN

Thought this was really cool:

I like him so much that I selected him in NHL 13.

I'll be crying tears of joy if we land Morrissey and McCoshen with our 2nd and 3rd picks.

Who cares. It's likely that our team continues to change considerably over the next few years. And not every single one of our D prospects are going to make it.

Morrissey and McCoshen are great value at these current draft positions.

Corey Pronman says that there is "a notable tier separation between the sixth spot (Calgary) and the seventh spot (Edmonton)" in his prospect rankings.

http://www.hockeyprospectus.com/arti...articleid=1520

He has Lindholm as his sixth ranked player and projects him to be an All-Star centre, while he ranks Monahan at seventh saying he projects to be an average first line centre.

He also says that Lindholm and Barkov is almost a coin-flip. Barkov has better hockey sense but Lindholm has fantastic speed.

I haven't seen much of either Lindholm or Monahan but from what I've heard I'm inclined to side with Pronman, and I would disappointed if the Flames went with Monahan over Lindholm.

Lindholm really isn't small. He's bigger than Crosby. He is also grittier than Monahan.

He should be our choice. We shouldn't draft based on how our team currently looks. That is foolish.

Really? Lindholm is ranked at around 6'1" and 192 Lbs according to elite prospects:

http://www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=33387

Not small at all. The best hockey player in the world is 5'11".
