He will never reach 40 points if he can't stay healthy though. Unless he can suddenly become less injury prone he will forever be a 25 point player.

He has had a left arm injury, broken finger, hurt knee. All were freak he doesn't have a weak part of his body I wouldn't call him injure prone unless it is the same part of his body being hurt.

I would because some people just have a lower pain threshold, their muscles just aren't developed enough so they get hurt more.... etc. At this point it appears his weak part of his body is well his body.

Agree to disagree we aren't in Salo territory maybe a few more injures and I will agree but right now I am staying cautiously optimistic.

next year is when ill make my judgement on backlund being injury prone. he will come in stronger more confident and more comfortable.

I'd definitely classify him as injury prone. His game did take a step though, hopefully it continues. I'd only move him for the right deal. Horak could fill his role until others are ready.

You mean can't win a faceoff Horak? I think I would rather just dump shift Stajan

Horak is not a center and shouldn't been in the nhl.

Yes that guy

We have help coming, maybe not next year but we are rebuilding. If moving Backlund landed us Barkov then I'd drive him to the airport.

Stajan
Barkov
Horak/Reinhart

I would consider it for Barkov but I personally believe this is the Backlund turns the corner he will be given more ice and will hopefully stay healthy. (I think turning the corner is 50+ points)

Also I didn't mean to sound like a dick I just really hate Horak at center and I think it would set him up for failure

I'm talking about the progression of the player, not the progression of his stats. If you think that Backlund was the same player this year, then with all due respect I would be forced to question whether you watched him play.

It's not Backlund for Barkov, it's Backlund + Monahan/Lindholm/Nichushkin for Barkov.

If we were talking about MacKinnon on the other hand, I'd have no problem with moving Backlund + 6th overall.

Horak's looked good on RW; let him stay there.

I never said he was the same player.

I am saying just because he has shown moderate improvement over the course of whole 32 games I am not going to assume he will maintain that. I want to see it over a longer period before I classify it as any more than a hot streak.

In terms of durability he hasn't developed at all, that needs to change desperately.

In terms of durability, his injuries have been freakish in nature for the most part. Broken finger, run into the boards at weird angle, knee injury. The only injury that seemed to me like it may have been the result of fragility was the knee injury.
