Man... what are they thinking in Beantown today??? The Habs have 3 1 goal preseason losses and most people want CJ fired already. The Bruins fans must be savage today! The Bruins have goaltending and defence problems and everybody knows it, could be a long year in Boston! They also lost 3-2 the night before to the Pens!
Potvin's night: 7 goals alowed in 30 min. before he got the hook.
I still remember the echos of that funny idea from the Theo non-beleivers: Trade Theo for Morris and we'll just have to sign Potvin for the year. He'll do just as well...
Of course it's only one pre-season game and no Bruins played well but still, Potvin is likely to finish the year as a backup with a .870 GAA and an average of 3.something goals alowed each game. Not based on tonight's performence, just the fact that he sucks as a #1.
I took the trouble of looking at the Boston board. Guess what? The Bruins fans took the loss in good humor, unlike the whiners and headless chickens here who call for the firing of Julien or Gainey making immediate trades or having the team tank to get Ovechkin.

Although I agree in essence with your post, about being a little to early to hit the panic button as it's just pre-season, I don't think calling people (some anyway) "headless chickens" is going to make you a lot of friends on this board.
many wanted him in Montreal just because he's French
where was Martin Lapointe too??
???
...... JUST cause he can play with is hearth, go in the corners and deliver good hits... and after all these reasons, cause he is french. We won our Stanley cups with players who grow in Quebec... in '93, 16 players in the pro line-up where french.
Come on fellas - If the B's end up making the playoffs this year, I can only imagine the Bruin fans that will be cackling on this board right up until the strike is over. Don't even give the suckers any ammo.
Potvin has playoff credentials no Canadiens goaltender has had since Andy Moog. He may be gagging pretty good now, but at least the Bruins have the kind of team that will be competitive because of their offensive ability. And then, we have the Canadiens at the other end of the spectrum, who have to force 2-1 games just to sniff 3rd place in the division....

Just a reminder...last year we only won 2 games in pre-season and you only lost 2...
Just a reminder of how important is pre-season to making playoffs.
Thats ok, but you have to admit that Potvin's performance are a litte scary. No need to press on panic button but it still doesn't look good. He add troubles with injury and when your teams decide to change you for Chek-my-net, you have a problem. Anyway Boston is better so no laugh should be done by any habs about them.

Do not extrapolate the comments of the few to reflect the feelings of the many.
I have been watching this game long enough to know that pre-season is a chance to give some ice time to young players, see how they look against some known NHL'ers, to juggle and play with lines, and generally play safe to avoid serious injury.
I look forward to the renewed rivalry when the puck drops for real...and I hope Lapointe recovers soon, because you never wish injury on any of the good players.

And we ,B's fans, wish well to Koivu and looking forward to the 6 games this year (and possibly a little bit more)!
(I might even make a trip to Montreal again to watch the game, love this city)
I don't think I'd be any happier if Montreal won a game 15-0 than if they lost 0-15. Preseason doesn't matter. The sooner people realize this and stop paying attention to scores in preseason the better off we'll be.

To continue on your trail of thought, the sooner people (media included) will stop extrapolate on what's to come based on a 2-3 game losing/winning streak, the better off we'll be.
Where is Johnny V ? I miss that guy. If we're going to be insulted, who better ?
Johnny V is the only one with a V.I.P. pass to come here and insult us at will. He's the designated troll of the board, and we couldn't do without him.
BTW, are you coming here for some Vachon cake just like JonnyV?
I was there last year in December for the game. Had a great time! Stayed in Marriott Champlain( sp?). Before that I was there when the Habs played the Panthers and stayed in the same hotel and met Pavel Bure and company(have a great picture with Pavel). Montreal is very conviniently located from Massachusetts.. Only 5,5 hours from my house.
I am still thinking about next year ...where to go. I'd love to go to Montreal but I've never been to Ottawa or Toronto(not that I want to pay their scalper's prices).
Btw I've never eaten Vachon cakes? Are they any good?
