3,384 that's the attendance for today's Cincy Ducks - Milwaukee Ads game 7 in Milwaukee. How is it that a team as good as Milwaukee can only attract that many people to a game 7?
They averaged just under 5,000 in the regular season, I guess the group sales aren't the same in the playoffs so maybe that has something to do with it.
Then again, I'm Canadian so maybe I just don't understand the American view towards hockey. But still a game 7?

I thought Copps Coliseum didn't sell out a playoff game until game 7 of the Calder Cup final, back in 2002.

Hamilton doesn't have the best attendance either but it is getting better, the Bulldogs attendance was 11th overall this season with an average of 5,793 per game.
I realize you posted that to try to get a rise out of me. There is no way Hamilton would sell out a 7th game in the first round either, but it safe to say we would have a few more than 3,500 on a Sunday afternoon. For a first round game 7, I would say that the number would be in the 6,000 range.

Sunday is a hard day to get fans to come to games, mainly because everyone is spending their money on Saturday or doing church orfamily stuff/dinner on Sunday

Thats like the Wolves first round...if they make it to the Finals each game will be sold out, but a weekday game will get about 3-4 thousand. I am going on Saturday, because it's just to hard to get t a weekday evening game.

Honestly, I'm not. In a year with the lockout, the fact that Phantoms attendance was only around 7,000 pretty much tells the tale. If Philly hockey fans were really starving for hockey, the Phantoms would have drawn considerably better.

BTW, of that 5,000, there were probably really only 3,000 there.

Philadelphia is a Flyers town. If the Flyers aren't playing, the majority of Philadelphia hockey fans don't care. Most Flyers STHs that I spoke with, who were given a handfuls of free Phantoms tickets during the season, told me that they didn't use any of them. Flyers STHs were also given club box playoff tickets and didn't go then either!

The only time that the Phantoms will draw 10,000+ is if the Phantoms make it to the Calder Cup finals AND if they can clinch the cup. Unless, of course, they give out bobbleheads and then everyone and their mother will go.

I think it is equally as sad that the Trenton Titans only drew 3,500 on Friday night for a series clinching victory over the Reading Royals. In fact, there may have been more Reading fans there than Titans fans. The difference there, though, is that 3,500 in a 7,000 seat building still provides a good atmosphere. 3,000 in a 19,000 seat arena is downright depressing.

Meanwhile the Moose have to open up the upper decks for game 5 against the Baby Leafs.

well as everyone knows attendance is down in the playoffs. coorporate bigwigs do not get the playoff ticket packages and that right there puts a dent in most if not all AHL arenas. We barely averged 5k in the 3 playoff games in Manchester and from what I heard the actuall crowd was less then 5k for each game, and we averaged over 9k per game in the reg season. But the reasons for that Go beyond the corporate tickets. The WolfPack for example were outdrawn by the UHL team in Danbury for game 1 of their series. How sad is that? Its pretty much allways been like this for just about every aHL arena. I would expect crowds to pick up thou, especially in the East with the Phantoms and the baby Pens playing. I wouldnt expect much in Lowell and Providence.

The only reason why attedance in Philly will go up in this series is because many WB/S fans will make the trip. It certainly won't be due to more Philly fans going.

Milwaukee just sold their team to a knew owner witch should help, but actually advertising the team.

I also get to see Wolves games and I attended a WED night game vs the Cincy Ducks and it was packed, about 9,000 in the place.

Then I went to see them play the Houston Aeros on a Thursday night ...Game 2 of their playoffs, I believe they just hit 3,000 or just came shy of it.

It's quite puzzling why fans don't show up for the biggest games.

I'm surprised to see how well they have drawn in the playoffs. But you can chalk up the reason for that is because of the new arena. Last season Manitoba was only average in attendance.

...and it's good to see the people of Winnipeg showing up. If the NHL ever adds a team to Canada, Winnipeg should get it hands down. The dreamers of Hamilton will continue to dream.
