First of all, where does the time go? It seems like yesterday that we did this for the 2012 and 2011 playoffs. Anywho, here I go:

Pit vs Nyi - Pitt wins in 6
Mon vs Ott - Mon wins in 5
Was vs Nyr - Wash in 6
Bos vs Tor - Tor in 6 (BAH! Sorry but I am worried we will beat ourselves)

Chi vs Min - Chi wins in 5
Ana vs Det - Ana wins in 5
Van vs SJ - SJ wins in 7
Stl vs LA - LA wins in 6

Book it.

Let`s Relax: Which team will Surprise us most?

Ok, loads of anxiety/panic/frustration and plenty of other adjectives surrounding our boys as they are about to embark on their playoff series with the Leafs. Pages upon pages of, well, alot of the same so.....let`s breath, have some fun. Which teams, East and Western Conference do you think, with limited to no expectations will surprise us here??

Doesn`t mean they necessarily go deep in the playoffs, but maybe they provide a push back that nobody expects. I`d rather not read Bruins, as this team was/is expected to be a playoff kind of team regardless of their inconsistencies this season.

My picks as a teams who`ll show us something I wasn`t really expecting

Isles-- while I think the Pens will move on, I think the Isles will be more of a test than many think....far too many have already handed the Pens the Eastern Conf Championship

West--- Wings over the Duckies

I hope the Isles give the Pens hell. Isles haven't had the greatest offense this year, but I think if they can keep the Pens in their own end and wear them down they have a chance.

I could definitely see the Wings beating the Ducks. They always have a good solid team with lots of experience and heart.

I can see San Jose upsetting Vancouver too.

Fortunately for the Isles, Fleury hasn`t seen a puck he likes in the post season for a few years now

I thought you'd predict the number of fights per series

Montreal out in 6 games.

Washington beats Pitts and goes on to win the cup.

Boston beats Toronto I think they are the only team we can.

I'm going to "go out on a limb" and say Ottawa. Their goaltending has looked very good in the games I've seen (of course that is against our terrible offense!! ). Karlsson is back, and Alfredsson is likely making his last run at the Cup. Plus, nobody has expected them to do anything all season and Montreal has stumbled as much as we have down the stretch; perfect scenario for an upset.

I'd love to play Montreal in the second but dont think the relentless Sens are going to let it happen- always avoid Habs in round 1 but after some bumps and bruises the quickness aint as quick

Chicago in 5
Detroit in 6
Canucks in 5
LA in 6

My surprise team is Minnesota. Chicago had a hot run all through the regular season, but they're due for a dismal streak sooner rather then later. Minny is solid, and some of the young guys should surprise. If Backstrom can step his game up Chicago could get a shock.

The Pens Isles games will be fun to watch. I'm just excited to watch playoff hockey and take a little break from finals.

2 more weeks and then I need a real people job.

West

Pick to put up a fight early: Wings - I have them as the favorites in that series. True, their defense isn't very good, but Howard has been on fire for a long time now. I remember him struggling in the payoffs before but I think he can step it up this year. I am most looking forward to this series after the Bruins one. They'd be in tough against the Hawks though.

Potential Stanley Cup Run: Blues - Not necessarily a surprise, but a lot of people are giving this series to the Kings. I think whoever wins this one is a major threat to take down the Hawks on route to a Finals appearance. I just like the Blues in a hard-fought 7 game series.

East

Pick to put up a fight early: Senators - I don't think they have the potential to go 3 or 4 rounds in, but I consider them the favorites against Montreal. There isn't a team in the league that relies on their PP like Montreal does, and, in addition to penalty calls being down in the playoffs, not many teams are better equipped to combat a great PP than the Sens are.

Potential Stanley Cup Run: Rangers - People talk about a comparison to the Kings last year but I don't think it's that off-base. Their offense is finally clicking and they have one of the better defense/goalie combos in the league.

I see absolutely nothing in the Isles. I think they're the easiest out in the playoffs to be honest. I think it'll only take 4 or 5 games for the Pens.

Me, I am very relaxed.. No expectations! Just rooting for the B's..

I am going to go with the Sharks over Vancouver in the West. I also want the Isles to take Pittsburgh to 7 and who knows.. Isles play a fast game and have played the Pens pretty good this season. The only thing that stinks is the Isles will be playing against the Refs also, who will be pulling for the Penguins star studded team to move on, and grab those ratings.

Again with the Bruins, ummmmm This season has been crazy so what ever happens happens. I have no expectations at all. Just win bebe, just win! And if they don't would I be surprised?? NO.

The team I think that can shock everyone ala Kings in the east, are the Rangers.

Plenty of parallels to last year's LAK's, given the pre-season expectations and the regular season struggles. I hear their goalie is decent too.

I've got Rangers over Caps in seven. Not convinced Ovi can carry them to four wins against Lundqvist.

Good choice bud. I think the logic that you used on your pick is right on.

You know what, that is a great answer. Me too bro, that would be the best gift I could get this year. What a Summer it would be if they were to win it all.. Even if they reach the SC Finals and lose, I would be so so satisfied. I would be ecstatic.
