Not that I'd do it, but the value has to be close.
I think if I'm the blues I require a prospect to be heading our way as well. Does not need to be Laughton or even McGinn, but Cousins or Leier would be fine. Other than that this trade looks to have good value, but it takes a stab at our D.

I wouldn't mind if we were able to get Jarret Stoll cheap in a trade.

"a stab at" ?????

In the sense that you're removing a perennial Norris contender from the D and replacing him with nothing thereby completely undoing the core strength of this team? I guess that could be considered "a stab."

A stab is pretty serious considering it's life threatening.

CarvinsigX proposed the trade, and I responded. Considering we have JayBo and Shatty, acquiring Giroux would be fair IMO.

As I said, I would not do this trade though.

No way Petro is traded IMO.

My guess is Chris Stewart and Kevin Shattenkirk are the only ones left

Nahh, I traded Stewart for a 5th rounder.

I'm guessing they look like Tampa Bay with all scoring and no defense

Kidding aside, I'm really hoping the blues somehow hop into the first round and nab a forward.

I'm just having trouble coming up with a trade scenario that doesn't deplete the current roster or any of the top prospects like Rattie and Jaskin. I'd be fine with trading Schmaltz though.

there are talented players projected late first round early second round. Robert Hagg and Artturi Lehkonen are 2 prospects I like that the blues could get

I don't even want to see it. I'm sure it would look like a horrible 14th place team in the West.

With the realism in that game?
He would likely be starting his string of Cup wins...

Wonder if we have any interest in Gagner.

Not a forward, a Center.

The Oilers are in the same situation as us when it comes to centre depth, they'd need someone going back. Despite all the talk that always surrounds Gagner, I was under the impression that the management in Edmonton really liked him.

I do wonder what kind of money he is looking for though. He'll be an UFA at the end of his next contract, so that rules out any chance of him signing a 1 or 2 year deal I'd imagine.

If he is available when the Blues draft at 47th overall -- and several mocks and scouting services say he may well be -- then THIS is the player the Blues need to draft.

He looks like he'd fit in great.

Meh, he is no good defensively, never plays physical, never wins board battles, never wins faceoffs, and is undersized. For the price he would cost, not interested at all

Hayden went in the 1st round of the moderator mock. I would have to think he would be on the Blues radar if he dropped that far...but I think it's unlikely that he does.

I agree, but only because my first name is Hayden.

Nothing really. I guess Shawn Thornton.

There's really no point of trading Reaves.

And no, don't ask me to be realistic.
