Dustin Brown and the World Championships

Now that Manchester has been eliminated, has there been any rumors of Brown suiting up for the U.S. at the World Championships? Now that Matt Cullen is out, the U.S. needs another forward and IMO Brown would be a great addition.

Probably not. Not a knock against him, but there were so many other US players left off the roster before, they're all going to get a look first.

I disagree. Brown has alot of things going for him.

1) He's played this year and played well.

2) He's represented the U.S. at this event before (last year).

I think if the like of Yan Stastny gets the nod, Brown has a great chance of being named to the team, even over some established NHLers.

Good points. I'd love to see him on the team, but won't look too much into it if he isn't.

Would have been nice to see Brown make the US team but since they picked Zach Parise today it looks like Brown isn't going.

Boudreau said in his column in the Union Leader today Brown was having trouble breathing before game 6 and he had taken a physical pounding during the series so it sounds like he might not have been able to play if the US had asked him.

Thanks for the article. It doesn't sound like either Brown or Gleason would have been able to participate even if they wanted to. Looks like they both could use a break.
