They deserve a team in KHL because they have time machine which puts you right into ZSSR !!
They`ll be thrown out of the league sooner or later.Probably sooner with all these new Euro teams possibly joining.

Novokuznetsk and Vityaz Podolsk should be merged into one prespective team. They have no fans either there.
The new place for them should be Sochi arena which would be perfect.

Is this something official? Because so far as I know, Vityaz should move there after this season I think. And teams like Novokuznetsk, Yugra could go to VHL later.

And Avtomobilist too they are only wasting time and place in KHL. With absolutely no prespective.

Indeed comrades from USSR had invented some kind of trash-can, toilet and basin in one form.

Boooh, stop that... how dare you say Novokuznetsk and Yekaterinburg and Podolsk have no fans or no perspective... very arrogant. Let's leave Russian matters to decide up to Russians, please.

Thank you. Raptor 1990 just keeps shoveling that "Comrades from the USSR" crap over and over. If it ever was, that crap just isn't funny any more.

Yes, it's true. Actually I think there are only two network that can afford it. VGTRK and NTV+. Both don't have plans to show NHL this season. For now at least.

You don't lose any quality if the webcast is done properly. The picture delivered from NHL Game Center via Apple TV has always been way sharper on my 46-inch TV screen than the regular TV KHL broadcasts delivered by the likes of Sport 1!

I think the best streamers use satellite signal or some sort of digital. I'm sure most ******* users know Bloodzeed and how good his streams are (always HD).

I am relatively new to the KHL so please excuse me if this is a dumb question or one that has been asked repeatedly. I am guessing visors are mandatory in the KHL, but that the rule has been grandfathered, as Sandis Ozolinsh does not wear one. Are there any other KHL players currently playing without a visor or is he the only one?

Avto has good fans and there is a potential there in that city. Today Podolsk sold out, although many fans were probably interested in seeing Kovalchuk, and there was some sort of charity function were ticket proceeds were being donated to charity. As far as building fans goes, I don't think it is fair to plop a team in a city and hope the fans show up the net day. Extensive marketing work needs to be done as well as a few years to build traditions, fan bases etc...

As for Novokuznetsk, its too bad the city and team is so poor. The people there love their hockey, hopefully someone with deep pockets will help them, even though it is unlikely. I like this team, they usually put together a team of young guys who work their butts off every game. A lot of good players have come out of their program in recent times as well.

I like Novokuznetsk too. Last years Ufa sends talented young players from Toros (VHL) to Metallurg and gets KHL-tested guys like Mereskin, Slepyshev and Sopel.

They are not mandatory just popular among KHL players. Here is a blog entry on the topic. Apparently there were only 6 players playing without visors in the KHL at the time. With at least 4 of them currently not in the KHL Ozolinsh might be the only one left indeed.

Yeah, let's forget the KHL is still a russian project and neat and shiny Slovans and Levs and so on wouldn't even have a chance to be in a league of that level without russian money invested in their upgrade to KHL.

The question here is not why there are crappy arenas in Russia, it's why the KHL continues to tolerate arenas like this after five seasons of this neverending Kuzbass drama. It compromises the prestige of the entire league. It's not the case where you're expected to attack foreigners with "Russia is strong!" bravado or whatever.
