I just think with all the youngsters we have and after Sacco's nonsense, we need a coach with NHL experience to take us to the next level.

Oh, and let's not forget all of his former players who are now playing in the NHL, including the one that won the Hobey Baker Award in 2006.
Not kidding at all. 19 seasons, 2 national championships. One of the top programs in the country, his pick of players and perennial choke jobs. Simply not that good for the resources he's had at his disposal and apparently the administration at DU agreed with me.

I have no idea how having coached players who play in the NHL makes one an NHL caliber coach. Should we find Matt Carle's squirt coach too? Hell, by this standard I think many of us here are NHL caliber players.

I really don't know what you think I was referring to, but it had nothing to do with shorter games and altitude.

My point was how a coach prepares his team for games, the ratio of practice time and instruction time relative to the number of games, the amount of travel, etc are all so vastly different as to call into question how comparable the two are. Off the ice, the game is very different. These are many of the reasons Dean Blaise cited for wanting to coach NCAA.

Well, that's done. Hopefully Sherman's next.

Knowing this crew though, I'm preparing myself for Granato III.

Grats! I could see Patrick Roy filling in, he has tons of experience now and is probably the coach your young team needs
