Top 6 LW to LA

Who is potentially available? Preferably someone under 30, cap hit under 4mill, ideally with a couple of years left. Doesn't need to be the go to guy but be able to pot 20 goals a season and be defensively responsible.

Possible assets going the other way

Bernier, Martinez, Muzzin, King, picks and prospects

Basically not much outside Bernier.....

Better shot to possibly get someone who was a cap buyout.

From Buffalo Leino is available and buffalo will eat the amount to get hm down to $4M per

What's your cap situation looking like for next season? Is someone like Clarkson an option?

You can have David Booth for a pick. Under 30, but costs a bit more than 4m.

I'd ask for a 2nd, but settle for a 3rd.

Bernier is probably our most valuable asset that we can trade, but guys like Martinez and muzzin that have playoff experience at a youngish age have decent value. Im not sold on Leino in all honesty. I don't mind creeping over 4 mill for the right player, it just makes balancing the books a bit harder.

It's not bad, depends who we resign and what happens with mitchell. Clarkson would be good at the right cap hit

Martinez and Muzzin are throw ins on a trade. they area dime a dozen... teams arent going to take them for a top 6 forward.

You can get one for Bernier easily. Instead look at getting an emerging one who is not on the $4M+ contract yet...the player my be on the 3rd line because of bag log.

St Louis would be a good example. they have depth at wing.

St Louis has depth on wing but no use for Bernier at all. So if that is the trade chip they have there is no deal to be made.

I was not proposing one of these guys as being the sole part of the trade but to suggest they are throw ins doesn't seem right. Youngish dmen with successful playoff experience aren't a dime a dozen.

I'm happy enough to trade for an emerging player (would probably prefer that because it would help keep cost down) I'd just like to know what realistic options are out there.

Perron would be your man.
Too bad we are bad trading partners since you won't give us a top 6 centre

Have you got a top 4 RHD you would part with?

Nah not really, unless you have a very loose definition of top4

How about something around Grabner for Bernier?

Grabner was on a 28 goal pace this season, is great on the pk, young and signed for 3 more years at $3M

I suggest signing Clarke MacArthur. He would look great next to Richards. He's streaky but he's good for 20 goals a year. He's chippy, has a mean streak, isn't amazing defensively but isn't a liability, and he has an absolutely wicked slap shot. See goal #1, #6, #9 for dat shot.

Vanek would rock for the Kings but I don't see a way that deal gets done.

The only thing id trade Eriksson to LA for would be Kopitar (add to Loui) or Carter (even).

Matt Moulson. He's in his contract year and he might price himself off LI with his consistent production. He's relatively cheap at $3.1M next season. He is a flawed player and there is always going to be the whole 'he's on a line with Tavares' stigma attached to him, but the guy just scores goals. He's the brother-in-law of Quick ya know.

Isles have reported interest in Bernier, maybe something can be worked out between those 2?

Yeah, I don't see LA being willing to move the pieces Regier would want for him, or having the cap space to keep him long term without creating a hole somewhere else on their roster.

I wonder if Leino might be a good fit if Buffalo retained some salary. Obviously his time in Buffalo has been rough so far (poor offense last year, and, while he looked good this year, injuries held him out of the lineup most of the season), but he's also shown he can succeed in a top 6 role if used properly.
