Is this his year????
What do expect from him this year???
THX LP66
I thought it would be Denis' year, but evidently he disappointed in camp and was quickly sent down to SA. I doubt he got a fair chance from the get-go since he was barely played in his 1 exhibition game and wasn't even matched up with any skilled linemates.
I hope Dudley protects him from the waiver draft. I'm quite certain we'd regret losing him.

I think its pure numbers game, theres just to many forwards that play the same style that he does ahead of him with experience. The team needs more bangers.. not the finesse type. I can see Horton & Stewart both making the team over him just based on the fact that they could possibly fill team needs. The banger/checking roles. Tocchet & Zezel both played at 18, so I wouldn't put it past Keenan. He doesn't shy from playing rookies if they fill team needs. Shvidki really had to impress to make this team.

Let's just wait and see what happens with the whole Horton/Stewart situation. It's possible that if both return to junior, Shvidki will not only be protected, but also in the lineup come opening night.
BTW, just to add to the waivers situation. If I remember correctly, the Panthers should be able to protect most of their assets. We still have quite a few players who are exempt from the draft. Now, even if Horton and/or Stewart make the opening night roster, the Panthers have 7 games, I believe, to make a decision on if they return to juniors or not. It's quite possible that if Dudley is able to sign them, they will get one last look at the two against real competition before they make their final decision. It is at this point that I believe we truly learn the fate of Shvidki, Novoseltsev, Hagman, Horton and Stewart. It's also possible we learn the true fate of Keenan and/or Dudley as well.

With the recall of Kolnik already, I'd bet Shvidki won't be the one seein ice time with the Cats on opening nite. Maybe San Antonio's opening nite roster, but not Florida's.

Its ten games Stinger, and well said on not only the fates of the players, but the relationship and fates of the front office.
