Basically it's like this:
Libertarians are unlikely to vote republican, but even less likely to vote democrat (nationally speaking).
If republicans want libertarian votes they have to adjust their platforms. Libertarians can deny republicans votes until they reach a certain threshold of libertarianess.
In a similar sense, ancaps do the same thing to the Libertarian party that Libertarians do to the republicans.
This does not mean that ancaps or libertarians are republicans, it just means that republicans try to court libertarians into their political tent (and by extension, ancaps).
Democrats could also do this, but their rhetoric is less complementary as it is more overtly statist, whilst not being consistent enough in civil liberties.
So, I will not vote for a Libertarian until they are libertarian enough, and I will not vote for a republican until they are libertarian enough. This IS an absolute pipe dream, but it may drag these parties towards libertarianism to some degree in the long run.
Why every vote counts, in American terms.

Yea, I agree with both of you. The choices in this election were horrible, probably the worst I can remember in my lifetime for either a provincial or federal election.

The difference for me is that even if they don't hold true, at least the Liberals acknowledged that economy is of great concern right now for BC moving forward. Not that I will be pleased if they win. It's like choosing between someone kidnapping my cat or stealing my favourite pen. Sure, one is worse but I'd rather neither event occur.

honestly, the best outcome would probably be a minority government.

At least that way we can hold these *****ers accountable.

I was talking to my boss about the election on Sunday saying how I don't want Christie Clark back and he said he would be voting for her because she supports business and has nice ****. I'm not sure which factor he put more emphasis on but that's a tradesman for ya

That's my logic as well. I voted with the express purpose of splitting the vote in my riding. Seems more than a few others are doing the same.

They have been incredibly accurate in the last US elections, but in Alberta and now in BC they really missed the mark badly.

NDP are the corrupt party. A) They haven't even had a Premier complete a full term yet B) They are running a crook as leader.

Polls at state and provincial level are not that accurate.
