After Bruins-Leafs this is the series I'm most pumped for. That we get to watch it on back to back nights almost makes having to wait til Saturday for game 2 of our series.

Habs come out flying in game 1, win pretty easily, then Sens even the series in closely contested game 2 where they get superb goaltending. Call it a hunch.

Chris Lee is like the first day that you get to go out shirtless on a nice sunny day right after winter ended.........and you left your sunblock at home.

You are going to get burned pretty badly.

I hate that we arent playing on Saturday. But, I get to watch the Bruins/Leafs game.

Leafs will go on a 4 game winning streak after tonight.

Did the Bruins play the Marlies tonight?

We should start planning our tee-times, 'cause we're not making it out of this series.
If Dan O Rourke is the referee and Bill McReary the supervisor of referees for the series, then the Habs are home free and the Sens are done..

The one thing about waiting til Saturday is it gives the Leafs time to get their act together.

If either the Habs or Sens steamroll tomorrow the losing team needs to play the next night...kind of brutal way to start the postseason.

Why? Does that ref hate the Sens or something?

You don't even have to include Ottawa in a search of his name on google to find out how garbage he has been for us.

Last season the Sens went out to do their Pacific coast games.

It started in Anaheim. The Sens were down 2-1 in the game and late in the game, the Sens had an extra attacker. Karlsson got tripped, got right back up (didn't even look at the ref), but didn't get a call. When reporters asked MacLean about it after the game, he said that Dan O'Rourke said Karlsson was a diver so he didn't call it.

The next game was in LA. He reffed the game with Tim Peel. I'm not sure which of the two it was, but one gave the Kings a penalty shot because they said Chris Phillips covered the puck in the crease. After they showed a replay, it was clear Phillips never did this. This one wasn't too bad since the game was already done (3-0 Kings), but it was still a terrible call.

The game after was in Phoenix. The Sens were down a goal, and Alfie scored to tie it. Tim Peel ruled it off saying there was goaltender interference, which was questionable at best. If you looked at this call, with the penalty shot call in mind, that's why Sens fans were pretty upset.

Then this year we got Dan O'Rourke for a game again, this time against Tampa Bay. With the name in mind from last season, most were expecting something not too great. Right off the faceoff after going down 5 on 4, O'Rourke calls Peter Regin for winning the faceoff with his glove - the new penalty. The strange thing about it? He was the back ref. Another ref had a much closer look at it, and didn't call anything. It was shown that it was his stick the entire time, and was a botched call. Tampa scored on their two minute 5 on 3.

All of this makes it pretty hard for Sens fans to see Dan O'Rourke's name attached to this series. It would be the equivalent of the Habs getting Chris Lee for the series. I wouldn't be happy with either because honestly, this has the potential to be a great series if the refs don't dictate it.

To add to the Tampa game, this all happened late in a tied game, did it not?

The series to decide who will be Canada's team.... as the others will be out. Hoping for Ottawa, thinking Montreal in 6.

There were a couple of other games after the incident out west that ORourke reffed where all the calls went against the Sens and they lost a couple of games because of it.

Supposedly Maclean as a new head coach in the league was not supposed to talk back to the refs and O Rourke was teaching him a lesson(according to Pierre Mcguire) But it hasn't stopped.

It is strange that the League would assign him o the Sens series

No, that incident happened in the second period. You're thinking of the Gonchar penalty where Stamkos probably could have gotten a diving penalty. I left that off because it's a big judgement call.

I agree on Toronto being out. Not yet sold on Vancouver getting ousted.

You would have to go back to last year when it happened, it was discussed on Pierre's segment on TGOR as well as other Team 1200 programs-Heathy Scratches and The Call etc.

Suddenly I'm not as optimistic about this series anymore with Dan O'Rourke assigned to officiate it..
