Canucks had as much wins the avs.

Back to back 1st round sweeps. Av is gone for sure and major trades will happen. What a pathetic bunch.

Shocker.

Worst crew in the league IMO, especially the PBP guy. Won't stopt whining about obvious things even a homer wouldn't ***** about.

Hoping the Avs are able to add Mark Streit from NYI, I know he plays the RD side, but if we get Jones and want him to be the long-term partner for EJ it would be pretty nice to pair him with a veteran guy as good as Streit.
I've heard that he plays on his off RH side too, but from the little bit of the game I saw today, he seemed to be playing on the left.

I still would rather see Jones paired with a more stay at home guy his first year. Hejda is perfect because he's fairly moble and can help him in that regard too, rather than making Seth do all the work, and his partner as the slow immobile guy that should never touch the puck.

If they add an offensive guy, he should be playing with EJ.

Meh.

You can't blame the penalty for such a terrible OT goal. Their penalty kill in the series was just horrendous, and the OT was largely dominated by the Sharks anyway.

Sums up what seems like 90% of the fanbase.

I can't believe they actually put up a statue to commemorate *****ing about the refs

Now just get Detroit out and I'll be happy with the Stanley Cup results.

Well, if there had to be one sweep, I'm pumped it was the nucks.

The call might have been a bit ticky-tacky for OT of the play-offs, but when you knock a guy into the boards from 4 feet out it shouldn't come as an outrage if you get sent to the box for it. That said, boarding is hardly ever called when two players are tied up like that - it usually involves the perpetrator skating in on the victim. At any rate, the Canucks lost the series well ahead of that play. But I understand the need to vent some emotions over it.

Odd that nobody over on the Canuck boards seem to want Sacco as their next coach.

I have to like the Sharks chances to win the Cup looking back at the past teams which eliminated the Nucks from the playoffs.

Gillis hasn't really managed to build a team in Vancouver. The two acquisitions that worked out really well fell into his lap because they were guys wanting to come home to B.C in Hamhuis and Garrison.

Apart from that Gillis has misplayed the goalie situation, alienated Hodgson to the extent he had to trade him for Kassian which hasn't worked out for Canucks, let Ehrhoff go which left a big gap on the PP, gotten Roy which was a failure and failed to get the physical, gritty forwards the team has lacked for ages. Add that their drafting doesn't look impressive since the 2004 lockout and they're in trouble going forward.

Canucks are a good team (helped by a pathetic NW division) but the window is quickly slamming shut. They had their run to the finals but it's looking like that was their Cinderella run.

I'll agree that the Canucks window is closing, but I'd say that they have ~2-3 years where they can still compete. They have to re-tool the team though. If they make the right trades they can get back what they need to compete right now.

Just a few key acquisitions can keep them close to contenders for a couple more years. IMO they need a better bottom 6, more grit on the 2nd line, and a true #1 defensemen. Trade Edler for a Chris Stewart type player plus maybe a PK specialist with some grit (not a PK specialist, but for argument Chris Porter). Trade Schneider for an upcoming elite #3C... off the wall idea Schneider for Sutter. Sign Raffi Torres in the off season. Then the tough part comes... finding a way to get that #1 defensemen. I have no idea how they get that. As this sits without that their lineup is a lot better:

Sedin-Sedin-Burrows
Higgins-Kesler-Stewart
Torres-Sutter-Hansen
Porter-Lapierre-Kassian

Hamhuis-Bieksa
Garrison-Tanev
Ballard-Corrado

Lou
Lack

That is better, but the bottom and middle pairing needs some work. Sign a top 4 defensemen UFA and the team should still be a 1-5 seed in the West. Find a way to package a few players together to get a top pairing defensemen and you could have a cup contender.

The complaints about the penalty are legit but what was Bieksa and Schneider doing on that play?

Yep. It reminded me of our series with SJ in 2010 where just about every 50:50 call went for the Sharks.

MAF is pure entertainment (unless you're a Pens fan).

Lupul showing good leadership on the ice and does very well in interviews too. I suspect Nonis wouldn't mind a mulligan and put the C on him.

I can't believe Hags took a slap shot on half an empty net.

Rags up 1-0

That has to be the worst pp I ever seen. The caps give up 3 great goal scoring chances and the ovy takes a penalty injuring erat all in one play.

Wait the gave 2 penalties in one play????
