Hear that sound?

That's the sound of the door slamming on the Canucks playoff hopes in the present and future.

It's strange how awful Edler has been the last two playoffs considering he really broke out during their cup run.

The funny thing is that over the past 3 playoffs now it always revolves around the Canucks goalies. But there is not a single goalie in the league who would be winning these series for the Canucks.

Against the Bruins: 8 goals in 7 games
Against the Kings: 8 in 5 games
So far through 3 games this series: 4 goals in 2.66 games.

1.3 goals per game in the last three playoff series right now.

Sedin's a no show. Secondary scoring a no show. Maybe Dominik Hasek in his prime gives you a chance...

This is why you need more than 1 line that can score.

So does anyone want Alain Vigneault as coach of the Oilers next season?

You can bet his head will roll after this (almost certain) quick playoff exit.

Never mind AV... What about Gillis? Surely he can't survive this catastrophe.

I love that pretty much everyone outside of Vancouver cant stand the Canucks. The Bruins, Hawks, Oilers, Flames and Avs are probably the most excited but Im sure im missing more.

Still can't believe the Canucks gave up Hodgson for Kassian. What a boneheaded trade.

Yep. Hopefully it serves as a lesson for the people clamoring to trade one of our young guys for someone who brings grit. You aren't going to win a trade when you give up the better player. It's as simple as that.

The Canucks' window is closed. They need a tear down.

Giving up talent for a meathead is a mistake.

The Canucks also gave up Grabner for Ballard.

Talk about asset mismanagement.

The Luongo situation is just bad comedy at this point.

At this rate it might be better to just trade Schnieder before he becomes the next DiPietro or Mason.

To be fair, I thought that was a good trade at the time. Who would have expected Ballard to fall off a map. He was a solid 30 point, young top 4 d-man.

And Grabner didn't even play a game for the Panthers. (Waived and put up 34 goals that year. Now THAT is bad asset management haha).

The Hodgson trade looks real bad though. They gave up a guy who looks like he can be a 60-70 point producer for a guy who is maybe 30-40. Just to get some toughness...

Yeah, the Panthers screwed up there.

But you'd think people would learn about poaching defensemen from the Panthers. Bouwmeester, Ballard, and Garrison. All busts.
