We will probably do it as well if we get a new arena and get into the playoffs. We both know neither of those things will happen.

If you didn't have enough reasons to cheer for Boston, here's another one.

Caps with powerplay for final two minutes of the game, full possession basically the entire time and don't shoot the puck. Gross PP to end the game.

They deserved nothing after that atrocious Ovi dive. This is what the NHL is becoming.

What do you expect? People to stay inside their homes to cheer for their team?

Toronto isn't exactly the safest city in Canada...

I don't remember there being Flames fans outside the saddledome in '04 or Oilers fans outside Rexall in '06.

It's amazing what Hitch has done with the Blues. Masterful coaching and development of players... they flat out look like the better team in this series IMO.

They would probably do something now, it is a pretty neat idea to set up large screen tvs and get the community together.

Edit: What about the red mile, whyte street?

Those occurred after the games were over.

I'm not bashing the city. I'm bashing the idea. I'm sure the fans are cheering loudly no matter where in the country they are.

Besides, Vancouver was doing that when they made the Finals in 2011. Guess what happened with that congregation of fans when they lost Game 7...

...And then they give up a 2-on-1 and a 3-on-1 which tied the game. Oops.

Wow.

Watching these playoffs.

MacT has a lot of work to do.

The Oilers are miles behind these teams.

Wings win and tie the series at 2s. Good. Need Anaheim to take a 1st round exit.

They took a page out of Montreal PK strategy from 2010 - cover Ovechkin and Green with man-on-man to eliminate their shots and then the other Capitals' player become lost on how to take advantage of the resulting 3-on-2.

Then Hitch calls a timeout and they proceed to score.

Yeah, it really goes onto show how far down the line the Oilers actually are. I don't believe MacTavish can implement enough change in one offseason to completely turn this team around.

Coach's duel. I want the blues to win but the Kings are the champs for a reason.

Regehr with an "Ales Hemsky" special just now on Reeves. How is it this guy never gets penalized for smashing guys in the numbers into the end boards?

Man Pavel Datsyuk was a man possessed in the last half of that Wings game. Unreal puck possession, able to deke/battle through 2-3 players at a time. Sniped the game-tying goal at an incredible angle with ridiculous velocity late in the third. Absolutely schooled Beachemin twice on the same shift with a hit and a hit-evasion. Unbelievable to watch.

Anyone notice how Jonathan Ericsson has rounded into a top-pairing defenseman? He's literally the Wings' #1 defenseman right now - better than Kronwall in his own zone and moving the puck with confidence and poise. Who would have thought the last overall pick from 2003 would emerge like this.

Brendan Smith is also a godsend for that team on the blue line. Unbelievable poise in the offensive zone today on the blue line. Justin Schultz-like. Amazing how Wisconsin is pumping out defensemen like that.

For all of us clamoring about how our future is bright - how about the Red Wings? That team has introduced about 6-7 rookies this season and not only made the playoffs, but are holding their own against the #2 seed. Nyqvist, Andersson, Brunner (leading scorer), Smith, Dekeyser, Lashoff are all rookies playing key roles for that team.

And let's not forget Jakub Kindl (3rd year player) and Cory Emmerton (2nd year player). Suddenly 4th year player Justin Abdelkader is a grizzled veteran on that team.
